 The Game's MJ Tribute Video "Better On The Other Side" - By : Nima - June 30, 2009
 Not even 24 hours after the news about the passing of Michael Jackson broke, The Game already released a tribute track to MJ titled "Better On The Other Side", which featured a host of singers on it: Chris Brown, Boyz II Men, Usher and Mario Winans all apear on the song, as well as Polow Da Don and Diddy. The production was handled by DJ Khalil.
Taydoe TV just released the official video to the track, which shows footage of the recording sessions to the track, as well as videos of the fans reactions to the singers death from all over the world. Check out the video below:

 Towards the back end of last year we were proud to team up with DJ Ill Will, DJ Rockstar and Hot Dollar to release "The Crackhead Mixtape: Volume 2", available for Stream & Download - the latest mixtape installment from the Island Def Jam/So So Def signee that had been eagerly anticipated in the months leading up to its release.
The trio of DJ Ill Will, DJ Rockstar and Hot Dollar have united again and added The Empire into the mix to create "The Crackhead Volume 3" which will be released later this month. We already brought you the first leak off the mixtape All Night Long which featured Pitbull, Yung Berg & K-Young.

One might be positively surprised to see and hear MC Eiht and Young Maylay over a Premo track, but it's no secret that Premo has been biggin up Maylay a few times off and on air during his radio show. Same thing with Eiht. And who knows, the once talked about bi-coastal collabo project between the two legends might still happen one day.

 Kitty is no stranger to Dubcnn: The female MC has been featured on the site numerous times in the last 2 years, most notably with the release of her debut album "Makin' All Dogz Meow", and most recently in an exclusive Dubcnn interview. During that period, "Lyrical Gift" – the title of her sophomore album – was brought up a couple of times. The latest details are shaping up nicely, as the Philippines born, South California raised rapper is now in the process of shopping the project around and securing a major deal.
While doing so, her camp hit us up to premiere a new track off her upcoming album. A first cut was leaked on Dubcnn last year called "Work My Kitty" featuring I-Rocc & Harmoney. Today we can finally bring you the lead single off "Lyrical Gift". The song is called "Love It Or Leave It" and featured DPG's own Daz Dillinger and Butch Cassidy on the hook, with production by Lethal. You know you know you're in for some heat!

 Bigg Steele is scheduled to release his longawaited new album "Cereal & Water" on July 21st. The 19-track record was entirely produced by Polarbear and features guest appearances from Kam, Guilty Simpson, Q-Unique, Krayzie Bone, Glasses Malone Mr. Criminal, Krys Ivory, Jah Free and others.
The title song "Cereal & Water" dropped almost 2 years ago and it kind of set the tone for Bigg Steele's new work. He took a different approach and went into a more conscious direction this time around. This new song we have for you today is taken from the album and it illustrates that point perfectly. Steele linked up with Brotha Kam for this new collaboration called "The Struggle".

 Recent years has seen the emergence of plenty talent from Watts, CA with artists including Glasses Malone, Bad Lucc, JAG, Jay Rock and many more. One not to be forgotten is the acclaimed "Prince Of Watts", Wolfcat.
Through Watts Wit It Records, he intends to release his upcoming project "G.R.A.P.E" (Get Rich And People Envy). We have three tracks off this street album to share today. First up is the heavily synthesized and radio friendly "Project Swag".

In December we announced the news that BYI Entertainment added Rome to its roster as a recording artist. Having made a name for himself as a talented music producer working with superstar rappers such as Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes and Omar Cruz, R.O.M.E. is now ready to take the world by surprise with his soulful, hard-hitting beats, mixed with his heartfelt lyrics.
"My Demo" which was pushed back from its original April release date is complete and set to drop next week on schedule.  Last week we brought you Alchemist's new single off his upcoming album "Chemical Warfare", dropping through E1 Music on July 7th 2009. The record, called "Smile" and featuring R&B singer Maxwell and Chi-Town's own Twista, received tremendous feedback both on and offline.
We've just received the official video to the song, directed by Jason Goldwatch, who's been behind some great videos in the past. As always, Alchemist came up with a creative video that is different from all the new videos dropping left and right. Big ups!

 As one of Sacramento’s premiere producers, Big Hollis played a major role in shaping the Sac Town sound and one of the unsung architects of the Northern California sound. Though he stayed on an underground level, Big Hollis has produced for Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs, Bad Azz, Bun B, Daz Dillinger, The Game, Lil Flip and Mac Dre just to name a few.
He is now picking the microphone back up as a rapper and getting ready to drop his new album, titled "West/South". The album is currently slated for a mid-August release through Pudge Boy/Out Of Bounds Ent.
The production was handled by Big Hollis himself, his nephew Preach, Cosmo, Jay Keez and long time collaborator Vince V. "West/South" brings together the West Coast/Sacramento sound with just enough down South flavor to appeal to heads on both coasts.
And if that's not enough, Big Hollis enlists the lyrical prowess of Bun B and Lil Flip to keep the bi-coastal party popping.

 We first heard from Oaklands own Renz Julian in April 2007 when he teamed up with DJ E-Rock to release the Legal Crack mixtape for free download on Dubcnn. Then last year we released his Pre-Album Mixtape Armageddon again for free download as well as promoting his single entitled Pop N' Lock featuring Twista and produced By Mr. Collipark.
As we reported in April Renz had signed a distribution agreement to release the project on June 16th, 2009 via FOD Entertainment/City Hall Records, and the date has stuck - next week "Armageddon" will be in stores.
Having brought you the video for this street single Draft Day in the last update we now have two brand new tracks from the album, two remixes of records you may have heard last year. The first is the remix to his hit single Pop N' Lock featuring Twista and produced By Mr. Collipark. This new remix sees E-40 join him and can be heard below.

 It's been a second since we brought you some new heat from "Mr. Inglewood city behind me", Damani. A few months ago he teamed up with Adidas to release a new shoe, "Adidas EQT Basketball Low - Damani". In conjunction with the release of the shoe, Damani also released a new mixtape, Adidas Presents: Congratulations Player.

 We would like to introduce to Dubcnn readers an up and comer by the name 4-4 Water. His debut album "On Top Of My Game" released today on the label Jake Records, and is already being met with wild enthusiasm in the south. 4-4 hails from South Carolina, and is getting some love this week from Hot 98-1 (Greenville) and just made an appearance on the latest "Down South Slangin" mixtape from DJ Chuck T.
The radio single "I'm On" is just starting to get some airplay and the Seattle based label is excited. "We're eager to show young 4-4 Water to the world, his music has bounce, energy, and a level of excitement you don't always get from new artists," said Jake Records CEO Scott Thomas. "We can't wait to see how the album is received" he adds.
The track we have today is called "I'm Straight" and its a perfect introduction to 4-4 Water's music. "I made this record to feel good, and show people the south can bring it whenever we want to, but its got something for all y'all so don't be shy, grab that," 4-4 Water said.

 Let it be known that Spice 1 is back! Not that he ever went anywhere, since the east bay gangsta is the epitome of independent hustle & gind. With the forthcoming release of Home Street Home on his own Thug World Entertainment, LLC, distributed through Bungalo/Universal, he remains an unstoppable force.
Known for several gold & platinum albums which include his debut Spice 1, the classic 187 He Wrote, and the infamous Amerikkka’s Nightmare, as well as his many guest appearances with the likes of Too $hort, Ant Banks, The Luniz, E-40 and 2Pac, Spice 1 has never been one to change his image or his style, remaining consistent throughout his years on Jive as well as beyond.

 We've got some news for you that's gonna make all the Self Scientific fans out there very happy! Via the official Self Scientific Blog, Chace Infinite has announced that he will be releasing a new mixtape on which he will be rapping over beats that his partner DJ Khalil did for other artists as of late.
"Our fans know a lot of the songs Khalil does with artists are Self Scientific songs or ideas first, so I thought it would be dope to do a Mixtape over the beats Khalil did that people always ask me if I'm gonna drop a verse on...", is what Chace had to say about the idea.
The mixtape is called "I Would Have Killed This" and a first leak was sent out a few minutes ago. On this, Chace picked the "Kinda Like A Big Deal" instrumental that Khalil did for The Clipse featuring Kanye West. He flipped it into "Know It's My Year", check it out:

 Barely 24 hours after we dropped Glasses Malone's official video to "Sun Come Up" with Rick Ross, T-Pain and Birdman (watch here), we've already received a brand new video from Glasses.
He shot a video to "Keep It 1000", off his "2010" mixtape with Greg Street on which he rapped over various Dr. Dre instrumentals. "Keep It 1000" was over the "Xplosive" beat, we dropped it on dubcnn before, now go ahead and check out the visual to the song below:

 Being signed to one of the most storied record labels in music history has its valleys and peaks. And while only a few know the feeling, no one may know it better than Tha Realest who is preparing to release his debut album “Witness Tha Realest” on July 14th through Team Dime Ent/RBC Records.
Proving his depth in the game, “Witness Tha Realest” isn’t your typical debut. The album features assistance from Ray J, Fat Joe, WC, J. Valentine, Crooked I, Yukmouth, EDI of Tha Outlawz, Devin The Dude, Sean P, C-Bo, and more. “Witness Tha Realest” will finally see the light of day after being over 10 years in the making.
“Get It N” is the album’s street single, produced by Detail of Konvict Music and is already making rounds in clubs across the nation.
Having signed to Death Row Records in 1996, Tha Realest is best known for looking and sounding similar to Tupac Shakur. Often having to address rumors that it was he who recorded many posthumous Pac verses, that would ultimately appear on the late rappers own records released after his passing.
He made his musical debut on the Gang Related soundtrack, appearing in two songs with rapper J-Flexx under the pseudonym Tenkamenin, sharing his name with a 11th century African Emperor of the Ghana Empire. In 1999, he performed seven tracks on the Death Row collaboration "Suge Knight Represents: Chronic 2000. He would again appear on yet another Death Row compilation titled "Too Gangsta for Radio", performing on two songs.
Tha Realest left Death Row Records in 2002 to form his own record label, 2Real Entertainment (later Omerta Entertainment). Now, in conjunction with RBC Records and NBA Superstar Mike Bibby’s Team Dime Ent., Tha Realest is set to release his first solo record “Witness Tha Realest” on July 14th.
