.......................................................................................... New Snoop Dogg - "That's Da Homie" (Audio) - By : Nima - August 31, 2009

A new Snoop Dogg record has leaked, off his upcoming solo album "Malice In Wonderland". While details on the album have been scarce, it has been said that Snoop once again recruited ghost writers to assist him and collaborated with Soulja Boy, Jazmine Sullivan and R. Kelly amongst others.
This new track is called "That's Da Homie" and was produced by Danja. This is a very southern influenced track, to the dismay of many fans online, but you never know what a Snoop Dogg album is gonna sound like until you hear the final product. Until then, check out "That's Da Homie" below:

.......................................................................................... New Music From Chace Infinite's "I Woulda Killed This" - By : Nima - August 31, 2009

Back in June it was announced that the rapping half of Self Scientific, Chace Infinite, was planning on dropping a new mixtape called "I Woulda Killed This", on which he raps over a selection of tracks that his partner DJ Khalil produced for other artists in the last few years. Looking at Khalil's recent track record, Chace had more than enough heaters to choose from!
The first track that was leaked was called "Know It's My Year" and had him rapping over The Clipse's "Kinda Like A Big Deal". We've just received the latest leak, "The Path", over the original version of 50 Cent's "I'll Still Kill".
Before the song featured 50 Cent with Akon on the hook, it had Bishop Lamont rapping on it with Kobe on the hook. Chace rips the OG version, keeping Kobe's hook, which in my opinion smashes the final Akon version. Check it out below:

.......................................................................................... Remembering Big Punisher: Ten Years On - By : Chad - August 17, 2009

The Legacy: The Best of Big Pun (Music From The Film) – The Soundtrack CD released September 15th on Loud/Columbia/Legacy, the same date as Big Pun: The Legacy - - the 93-minute documentary DVD Released by CZAR//Vivendi/Universal.
“Big Pun accomplished his goal by becoming the first Latino hip-hop artist to sell a million records. He was nominated for a Grammy after the release of his classic album Capital Punishment and earned respect from virtually everyone in the industry, appearing on tracks with Jennifer Lopez, Monica, Nas, Raekwon, Marc Anthony, Incubus and many more... Who knows how much more Pun would’ve accomplished and where his music would’ve taken him if it weren’t for his untimely death.” –Vlad Yudin, director of Big Pun: The Legacy, from his liner notes to The Legacy: The Best Of Big Pun (Music From The Film).
The all-too-brief big time recording career of South Bronx Latino hip-hop superhero Big Punisher (Christopher Rios, 1971-2000) began on the mixtape scene in 1995, when he joined his friend and patron Fat Joe on a handful of freestyle joints – and came to its sudden end five years later on February 7, 2000, when Pun succumbed to a heart attack (brought on by his 300-400 pounds girth), just two months before the release of his second album in April, Yeeeah Baby.
During those five years however, no rapper reigned more supreme than Big Pun, who enjoyed the distinction of being the first Latino hip-hop artist to reach the RIAA platinum certification plateau (with his debut album, 1998’s Capital Punishment). In addition to his own releases, Pun was in constant demand and appeared on sides with (to name a few) Fat Joe (and other members of Joe’s Terror Squad Entertainment crew), The Beatnuts, Kool G Rap, and KRS-One, and of course Jennifer Lopez, whose Epic single “Feelin’ So Good” (with Big Pun and Fat Joe) was issued the week before Pun’s death.
In loving tribute to Pun – as the 10th anniversary of his death approaches next year – filmmaker Vlad Yudin has directed a 93-minute documentary feature on his life, Big Pun: The Legacy. The Vladar Company with Czar Productions will release the DVD of the film on September 15th, distributed by Vivendi Universal (a division of the Universal Music Group, UMG) and Polychrome Pictures.
On the same day (September 15th), the soundtrack CD - - The Legacy: The Best of Big Pun (Music From The Film) will be available at all physical and digital retail outlets through Columbia/Legacy, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
In addition to a never-before-released track by Pun, “BX NI**AZ,” the DVD of The Legacy also contains a number of bonus features. These include an exclusive interview with Big Pun himself; deleted scenes (with XZIBIT, Raekwon, and Snoop Dog); outtakes (with Swizz Beats, Method Man and Redman, Jim Jones, and Keith Murray); and a “Making of the Film” segment (featuring interviews with director Yudin, producer Ed Mejia, Jose Aguilar and cinematographer Vitaly Acosta).
THE LEGACY soundtrack follows the film’s direction and incorporates spoken word tracks along the way.
Check out the Dubcnn Exclusive Video Interview with the Producer and Director of Big Pun: The Legacy.

.......................................................................................... Exclusive Interview With Brandon Schultz (BLOKHEDZ) - By : Chad - August 13, 2009

Considered the least bankable of hip-hop’s four elements, hip-hop graffiti is also the least respected by law, being the only one of the four elements you can be prosecuted for if caught in the act, and in some cases it’s a federal offense. Today aerosol art continues to survive in the urban underground scene and the fashion world, while also quietly maintaining an unrealized presence in modern comic books and graphic novels. Check out the obvious graffiti styles of Humberto Ramos and Lesean Thomas for reference.
In 2009, with the introduction of Imajimation Studios The BLOKHEDZ, hip-hop illustration finally gets some way over due props. The animated project was originally introduced as a comic book in 2004, as a gritty urban tale that takes place in Empire City, a megapolis described as “New York City on steroids”. The main character is a (gifted) chosen emcee named Blak (voiced by Talib Kweli). Blak’s supernatural rhyme skills give him the ability to control minds. His power is also realized in the visual spectrum by powerful blasts of stylized graffiti, that idea alone should be a revelation for true hip-hop graffiti heads. With it’s tight animation and up tempo action scenes, The BLOKHEDZ could be the beginning of a new and exciting trend in the hip-hop movement. The technique of using hip-hop styled art and music together, to tell dramatic and thought provoking stories, while also being realized as a new profit model. While The BLOKHEDZ project isn’t the first of it’s kind, it is the fist pure hip-hop animation project positioned for a world wide audience. Now please without further ado, check out the trailer:
BLOKHEDZ Trailer Chad Kiser and guest contributor Norff Wess sat down with Brandon Schultz, who is the creative director of Imajimation Studios, and one of the main conceptualists behind the innovative comic book to the animated webisode series The BLOKHEDZ. You can check The BLOKHEDZ 24-7 at www.missiong.com. Also for more information go to www.BLOKHEDZ.tv.

You can also catch the video of DJ Khalil, Talib Kweli and Phil The Agony laying down vocals for the second act of the BLOKHEDZ animated series below:
