DubCNN: DubCNN checking in with hip-hop/r-n-b heavy hitter, and former Terror Squad member, Tony Sunshine. What’s up fam?

What’s good Boy!

DubCNN: You recently dropped a new banger Tony (which you can check out below)…is this song for an upcoming album?…and if so, what can hip-hop heads expect on the project?

It’s for my EP entitled “no filter” it’s going to be a free mixtape that my fans are going to be able to download for free on the web, once it’s done. It should be out the first week of June. You can expect to hear the Tony Sunshine that everyone has been waiting for.

DubCNN: How did you get your start in this music game Tony?

I grew up in a very talented neighborhood. The Bronx, New York. With artists like Lord Finesse, DiamonD, Show Biz & AG, Cocoa(lead singer from SWV), etc. Everyone heard that I could sing. And once I showcased my talent to Fat Joe, the rest became history.

DubCNN: What initially inspired you to pursue music as a career?

I use to sing along to Salsa music when I was 5 years old. That’s when my mom first discovered that I could sing. I went to a music festival with my mom, and she made me sing for this salsa singer name Raphly Sabatel. I blew his mind with my voice at such an early age. And that’s when I knew what I wanted to do for a living. SING!

DubCNN: Any real hip-hop head knows that you were the one behind all the dope hooks, and melodies, on the late legend Big Pun’s projects. What was it like working with Pun fam?

He was my big brother. It was easy, because he respected & understood my talent.

DubCNN: Do you have a favorite collaboration of all-time?

My favorite collaboration has yet to happen. Because I would love to do a record with Nas.

DubCNN: Nice! In it’s best days, what was it like being a part of the Terror Squad Camp?

It was a blessing & an honor to be a part of the legendary Terror Squad. With secured respect, our moment in history was finally secured & undeniable.

DubCNN: What is your personal opinion on the game today?

Hip-Hop & RNB has evolved. I respect all the young cats in the game, but nobody is doing anything that is amazing in my eyes.

DubCNN: Are there any new artists you are feeling fam?

Right now, I’m just working on me & my career, so I can’t sit here and say who my favorite artist is at the moment, ’cause I’m not listening. I’m focused on me!

DubCNN: No doubt! What was it like for you growing up in NY?

It’s the capital of the world. If you don’t stop & look around once in a while, you could miss it. I loved growing up in the Bronx, NY. I wouldn’t change it for nothing in the world. It made me who I am.

DubCNN: Who are your top 5 MC’s of all-time?

1. Kool G Rap, 2. Rakim, 3. Big Daddy Kane, 4. Nas and 5. Big Pun – who will always be number 1 in my eyes.

DubCNN: Dopest Big Pun song of all-time?
