1151595947 - January 1, 1970 By : La Coka Nostra is a movement which brings together some or all of the members of groups House Of Pain, Lordz Of Brooklyn and Non-Phixion. With Everlast leading the way with Ill Bill, this Supergroup of white Rappers/Producers will soon be blazing the industry with the rugged bully-foot Hip Hop music, as each member always has. Everlast, Danny Boy and DJ Lethal dropped their debut in 1992 on Tommy Boy Records, which featured their biggest Hit, the DJ Muggs produced "Jump Around."
In 1996 they went their seperate ways, Everlast found success as a Solo artist, DJ Lethal joined Rap/Rockers Limp Bizkit. Nearly ten years later, the trio join up again, but this time with their good friend Kaves of Lordz of Brooklyn, Ill Bill of Non-Phixion and a host of others to form La Coka Nostra.
As you could expect, the production on the La Coka Nostra project is going to be dark and sinister. Enlisting not only group members like DJ Lethal and Ill Bill, but extended family Q-Unique, Cynic of Street Platoon/Sick Symphonies and Sick Jacken of Psycho Realm/Sick Symphonies. The latter of the five, Jacken, also finds his way onto the mic, with B-Real, Everlast and Ill Bill on the hard hitting "Fuck Tony Montana." Everlast vehemently spits out lyrics like:
"Drugs, Money And Sex, Revolution Is Next, This Ain't Strong Armed Robbery, We Got A Small Armory, Fuck Cracks And Glocks, We Shootin' Back At The Cops, Deep Under Cover Like We Runnin' Black OPs"
If you dig that, believe it only gets better. Check that out below:
La Coka Nostra feat. B-Real & Sick Jacken - Fuck Tony Montana
We also have a song from La Coka member Big Left. The Queens Born, Bronx native of Italian descent spews out flame for all his "Drug Smugglers, Gun Busters, Fed Duckers" over ominous keys. Check out "Head Nod Shit" below:

1159548612 - January 1, 1970 By : Dubcnn recently spoke to Chace Infinte, one half of the acclaimed group Self Scientific to find out what's happening with the duo. Chace informed us that they are currently in the process of recording two albums, the first of which is a collaboration album with Sick Symphonies (Psycho Realm / Street Platoon) called "The Black & Brown Underground."
The album is being aimed at tearing down the walls that exist between Blacks and Browns in California. The album is already set to feature production from DJ Khalil, DJ Muggs, Cynic (of Sick Symphonies), FM (of Sick Symphonies) and Sick Jacken.
The second album is the much anticpated follow up to last years "Change" which is set to be titled; "Come In Peace, Prepare For War" and is scheduled to come out in March of next year. Chace told dubcnn; "We have started on a lot of songs and we will make some available for dowload very soon. This is going to be our best album yet, we have some special surprise guests lined up and as always Khalil will handle all of the production."
He also talked about a recent track which cropped up on the Focus mixtape - Chace explained; "The track "What Is It Now" is from Focus' mixtape called 'It Had To Happen.' Focus and Khalil are good friends, they are both Aftermath staff producers, so Focus asked if we could do a joint on his mixtape."
Dubcnn is also please to announce some information on DJ Khalil and his recent production work. We have been told that he has 3 tracks set to appear on Talib Kweli's new album "Eardrum," 2 on Xzibit's new album "Full Circle," one of which is called "Poppin Off" which features DJ Quik and King T.
DJ Khalil is also said to have contributed one track on The Game's new album; "The Doctor's Advocate" as well as one for the next 50 Cent album which is as yet untitled. He has also contributed to the score for the animated movie Blokheadz.
In related news DJ Khalil is said to be in the studio with Strong Arm Steady working on their debut album which is scheduled for release next year on Blacksmith/Warner Brothers. Early recordings sessions are said to have produced six tracks; two of which feature Bishop Lamont.
Stay tuned to dubcnn for more exclusive news on Self Scientific and all of these aformentioed projects.

1169752316 - January 1, 1970 By : With 2007 quickly gathering momentum one of the Westcoast's biggest underground label's has released its record release plan for the coming year.
The label, part of the DJ Muggs / Soul Assassins brand will include, among others, "The Soul Assassins Collection." Picking up where Muggs Vs GZA "Grandmasters" left off, DJ Muggs is currently teaming up with Jacken of Psycho Realm/Sick Symphonies for a Muggs Vs Sick Jacken album, as well as "King Medallions" - the alter ego of one of your favorite underground emcees, for the "Muggs Vs King Medallions" project.
Along with that will be the long awaited DJ Muggs "Soul Assassins 3" album which we reported on throughout much of last year, the album is set to be in the style that Muggs himself pioneered. - dark, hardcore and underground.
2007 will also see the release of the "Black & Brown Underground" album, a collaboration effort between Self Scientific and Sick Symphonies. The album will focus on the long time Los Angeles rivalry between the Black and Hispanic community, as well as promoting unity between the two for the new generations.
Self Scientific, as we exclusively revealed last year, will be putting out their second full length album on Angeles Records entitled "Come In Peace, Prepare For War." Expect more consciously charged lyrics from Chace Infinite and some of LA's hottest beats from producer DJ Khalil.
Later in the year you can expect the long awaited "Cali Untouchable Radio" album from DJ Warrior as well as a debut album from a group we exclusively revealed existed last year; Warfare, a combination of Skinhead Rob (Transplants) and Damu - the album is to be produced entirely by Travis Barker.
You can expect dubcnn to bring you news and audio from all these releases as well as a host of exclusive and detailed interviews with the artists and producers. Until then you can visit the official Soul Assassins page, the Angeles Records website and their MySpace page.

1085559939 - January 1, 1970 By : First off, I'd like to aplogize to everyone, visitors and artists alike, for my lack of updates lately. I've had a little trouble with logging in, but it's all solved now.
At the start of the month, 98.9 More FM in San Diego/Tijuana Mexico, held the first ever Latin Rap Festival. They set up the concert at El Foro in Tijuana, a perfect spot for a concert. The show was PACKED the moment the doors opened. Line was around the corner, no bullshit. It was promoted well. First artist up was Young Sicc. Since he opened the show, the crowd wasn't really into it yet. It took Slow Pain and the Old Town boys to really get it jumpin'. I was shocked at how much crowd participation that had. Mr. Shadow came out next. He had some good crowd control. He did most of his popular songs "Haters," "If You Ain't Ballin', You Stallin'" and others. Psycho Realm and Street Platoon we next. They killed it. Just as Sick Symphonies usually does. Mr. Lil-One came out. He brought his brother(along with his rhyme partner, who's names I forgot), Shysti and the beautiful and talented Michelle Ambriz with him. He went through most of his tracks, he did a sogn with Shysti off of their Spanish language duo album, entitled "Rap En Español." It should be dropping on Tuesday, as well as the Latin Kings compilation and Shysti's solo. Look out for Riverbottom ya'll. Next group was Aztec Tribe. I'm not very familiar with them. Personally, I wasn't feeling their set. But, to their credit, Sick Symphonies and Lil One wore the crowd the fuck out. Two very heated sets to follow is not easy. Closing the show was Delinquent Habits. They're just not the same without Kemo. It's like watching Bone Thugs without Bizzy, N.W.A. without Eazy, there's just something missing there. But, again, they couldn't match what Sick Symphonies and Lil One did before them.
Overall, it was a great show. First of it's kind. I can only see it growing into something bigger in the next coming years. Props to 98.9 More FM and props to Shysti and Rags for putting together this show.
Next show I want to talk about is the F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants album release party. The album is out, as of May 11th. I gotta give it up to F.I. They put together a very good show. Their opening act was L.A. legend 2Mex. He tore it up, as usual. He did tracks off the Mind Clouders a;bum, "B-Boys In Occupied Meixco" album, his self titled album and a bunch more. A lot of energy in his set. He closed his set by bringing out the Shape Shifters crew. That was a tight way to close it. The crowd was very hype. Eric Cubichi came out and spoke. A lot of people were in attendance, from legends like Mellow Man Ace to Sick Jacken. This duo came out and performed a few tracks. I didn't catch their name, they were coo though. Finally, F.I.L.T.H.E.E Immigrants came out. They did "Propagangsta," "Liberta," "Push Of A Button," "Pass The Torch" and bunch more. The song that most stick out was "C.H.I.L.D." This song was amazing. Dutch wrote the record so that the beginning letters of the words spelled out the word Child. So, he would spit something with C, then an H, an I, an L and then finally a D. It was very creative. The song had a lot of meaning, it's something ya'll show check for. They had so much energy. So, if you ever get a chance to see them live, do so. Pick up their self titled album, it's out now.
Props to all the artists that performed at any of these shows. If I left you out, I'm sorry.

1091290625 - January 1, 1970 By : Got damn! The Latin Rap Conference was a major success. A lot was accomplished. The panels were very imformative, the performances were off the hook and the whole atmosphere was perfect. The peace was kept, everyone networked and got along well with one another. That goes to show, you CAN have a bunch of Latinos in one place and still keep it postive. The stereo-types are flying out the window. Some of the panelists were Sick Jacken, David Rolas, Guic, Rags(98.9 FM), Mr. Lil-One, E-One(Universal), Ceaze(98.9), Cesar(Univsion), Sal Rojas(BrownPride.com), Mellow Man Ace, Fidel(Divine Forces Radio), Bimbo, Don Dinero, Felipe(Los Nativos) and many more. So much knowledge was dropped, it was insane.
Also in the house was Don Cisco, Queenie, Kemo The Blaxican & The Dead Silance Fam, Toy(Control Machete), Tha Mexikans, The Beatnuts, JayTee, Knightowl, Slush The Villain, Young Sicc, Oscar from Riverbottom Ent., LoLife, Kiki Romero, Reazn Being & Contraband Fam, Sucio(Pone mas jamon meng!), Terrence & A.C. Mack from Urban Latino Hip Hop Show(My roomates, what's poppin'!), Blunts LLA, Brown and Proud Radio, Tomas & 805 Underworld, Fuerte Group, Mezcal, Romero The New Mexico Lobo, Johnny Boy, Ozzie, Brian, Ruen Clothing, Malverde and tons more. Everyone else that was in the house, I didn't leave you out on purpose, my bad if you're name is not on the list. Thanks for coming out and making a difference in this Latin Hip Hop game!!
All in all, from the Conferences to the Clubs, everything went well. The second time around, we can only expect bigger and better things. Let's keep it crackin'!!! Stay in touch with everyone you came in contact with. Look for Pictures and artist and label updates coming VERY soon. Last but not least, I want to send a shout to the big homies Shysti and Rags for making this event possible. You got my support One Hundred.

1103901413 - January 1, 1970 By : Wednesday December 22, 2004 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood found DubCNN in the midst of one of the illest shows this year. The line up included headliners and people you brought us this amazing show, the F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants, as well as Underground legends Mykill Myers, 2Mex & Busdriver. Along with plenty of Up and Coming artists like Global City, Borettta, Second State, Fats and others.
How much was it to get in you ask? 5 dollars or a Toy. All of these artists came out in support of a Toy drive! That's real ill. As they said during the show, "This time of the year is for the kids." The house was packed there's gonna be some very happy kids this Christmas. Props to Rif, Dutch & F.I.L.T.H.E.E. for putting this together.
The show was a heat rock in it's own. Everyone was given 10 minutes to do their set. And it moved very quickly. There was only one point of dead time during the entire show that boasted performances from over 10 artists. Pretty damn good, if you ask me.
All the acts were good. But, it wasn't until 2Mex and crew came out, that the crowd got crazy. On the first song of his set, a Mosh pit erupted. F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants continued the onslaught of hard hitting jams, keeping the Mosh pit going strong. But, when they brought out the special guests of the night, the place was truely bumping. For the first time since 1998, Sick Jacken of Psycho Realm and B-Real were on the same stage performing together. Along with Street Platoon, it was a perfect way of ending the night.
So, not only did the kids get a treat, but so did the fans. They witnessed Hip Hop history! Again, I'd like to thank the F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants for putting this together and giving back to the community. Also, I really would like to thank them for showing DubCNN so much love. Pick up their muthafuckin' album!!!!! Shouts to everyone who came out to support the kids!

The long awaited interview with The Kings of Underground Hip Hop, Sick Jacken, DJ F.M. of The Psycho Realm along with Cro and Cynic of Street Platoon, together known as Sick Symphonies; granted us an exclusive sit down interview. Dubcnn got the chance to ask all the questions that fans world wide, from Japan, Eroupe and straight back to their famed city of Downtown Los Angeles. Dubcnn asked questions about the past, present, future and everyting in between.
This exclusive interview was about an hour and some change, I asked everything from the highly anticipated Mixtape turned album called Sick Symphonies Presents: SickSide Stories that will be released this June, along with other prjects, like The Black Havana Tribe. Of course we had to touch the subject of Big Duke's condition and surprises he has in the works. Street Platoon's new album, I even took it back to the "Chicano Pride" days. We also spoke about B-Real rumors, tours, their clothing lines, and what’s next for Sick Symphonies!
Thanks to SGV and JoeC you will be able to see it, hear it or read it! I am doing my best to transcript it for everyone who doesn't have the capability to download audio or video. How was the interview you ask? One word. S I C K!

NEW YORK- DJ Warrior, is now without a doubt the West Coast's Finest mixtape DJ when he won Best West Coast Mixtape DJ again at Justos Mixtape Awards held at BB Kings on March 9 in New York City. DJ Strong, co-founder of Cali Untouchable DJs was also nominated for the Best West Coast Mixtape DJ award. DJ Fingaz and DJ Fatal still made and appearance via satellite, and DJ Hideo was in L.A. holding it down at 100.3 The Beat.
"I Feel I definitely deserved (the award) because nobody out here in the West breaks artists like we do", said DJ Warrior about winning the award for The Cali Untouchables. In the last year, Warrior and the Cali Untouchable DJs have broken such artists to the west by putting out mixtapes featuring The Game, Saigon, Strong Arm Steady, Crooked I, Balance, Scipio, Dynamic Certified, Y.A, Technique, Ricashay, Spitfyre, Runnin Mad to name a few and hot producers such as Da Riffs. Along side major players like Kurupt, Outlawz, The Game, DJ Muggs, Talib Kweli, Method Man, Chamillionaire, Pitbull, Stat Quo, etc Warrior says, "We're respected locally, nationally, and overseas, we make it happen"
DJ Strong states "It was good to be recognized for our hard work and talent but Warrior winning means the team wins so I got no problem coming in 2nd. Next year we're going to take over the whole category."
"We are the DJs that made this mixtape thing popular while other non mixtape DJs trying to claim they doing something in the mixtape game, ...we would like to inform you there's no mixtape DJs in L.A., especiallly Southern CA, besides Cali Untouchable DJs." Says DJ Warrior. "We are the truth for the West, we dont just speak on this we live it everyday...how bout all the real mixtape DJs stand up in Southern CA...hmm, i dont see anybody. So please stop the fakeness before we do u like a chump...holla."
The mixtape awards had a new category with The Best West Coast Mixtape Artist. The artist that were nominated (Game, Balance, Outlaws, and Scipio); all were featured on Cali Untouchable DJs mixtape released as far back as 2003. You can find all of the award-winning mixtapes at HipHopWest.com

1119384148 - January 1, 1970 By : June 20, 2005 (Los Angeles, CA) Multi-platinum rap producer DJ Muggs has joined forces with critically acclaimed hip-hop duo Self-Scientific and formed a new label, Angeles Records. Angeles is the latest addition to Fontana Distribution, the independent distribution division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company. Initial releases will include DJ Muggs vs. GZA, a unique collaboration between Muggs and Wu Tang Clan’s GZA. The second release, Change, is the much-anticipated follow-up LP by one of LA’s most talented, but underexposed groups, Self-Scientific. Both albums are due out in October.
“The industry has changed profoundly over the past decade,” explains Chace, the MC of Self-Scientific, about why they decided to ink a label deal of their own. “The majors aren’t interested in --or prepared to-- deal with developing acts anymore.”
“That’s where we come in,” explains Muggs, and adds that while most indie hip-hop labels today are putting out very left of center music, Angeles is about “true, pure, quality hip-hop.”
“Muggs and Self-Scientific are true entrepreneurs in every sense of the word,” notes Steve Pritchitt, General Manager of Fontana, “we are thrilled that they have chosen to be part of the Fontana family.” Most known for his seminal work as the DJ and producer behind the legendary rap group Cypress Hill, Muggs has worked alongside rap heavyweights from Dr. Dre, Wyclef, Mobb Deep, GZA, and RZA, to name a few. Indeed with such an extensive credo, Muggs is a heavyweight himself. Also part of the group the Soul Assassins, Muggs today has his own radio show on Sirius Satellite on Shade 45 called “Mash-Up Radio” and tours with multi-platinum groups like Blink 182. Most recently, Muggs scored one scene in the new Ice Cube movie "XXX.” Self-Scientific, composed of Chace Infinite and producer DJ Khalil, burst on the scene with their much lauded LP, The Self Science. Since then, Khalil, long heralded as one of L.A.'s best up and coming producers, has kept busy working with Dr. Dre and Aftermath Records on a production deal. MC Chace can be heard on Sway and Tech’s latest album Back to Basics and Talib Kweli’s Beautiful Mixtape Vol. 1. The duo released a compilation earlier this year called Gods and Gangstas.

1121804980 - January 1, 1970 By : Cypress Hill founding member and architect DJ Muggs is releasing his latest effort, DJ Muggs vs. GZA: Grandmasters, this October on Angeles Records, an imprint on Fontana Distribution. The stunning collection contains 11-tracks of Muggs’ neck-snapping beats with the Wu Tang’s GZA on the mic. “We’ve talked about collaborating since we worked together on the first Soul Assassins records back in 1997,” remarks GZA. “And we’re both Grandmasters at what we do,” he says, referring to the album’s title and term for a chess Virtuoso (Incidentally, chess is a game GZA thinks should be part of the school curriculum in America).
Most know GZA as perhaps the most lyrically gifted of the Wu Tang Clan--he’s released numerous acclaimed projects in his own right. His solo album, Liquid Swords, has been hailed as a hip-hop classic, and his subsequent work has been lauded as among the most seminal of Wu-Tang’s solo projects.
Never one to keep his talents in check, GZA is currently penning a book about the mind state of the hip-hop artist.
Aside from his lauded work with Cypress Hill and the Soul Assassins Crew, Muggs has launched Mash-Up Radio a syndicated radio show on KROCK 2 in NY, 10 U.S. cities and Sirius Shady 45. Plus, Muggs will headline the Lalapolooza World Stage with the Mash-Up Circus, which is a massive 3D DJ circus (a' la Cirque de Soliel). Just as DJ SCREW was looked at as the foundation for Chopped & Screwed, Muggs is fast becoming the go to guy for Mash-Up versions of records. Muggs has an original Mash-Up album nearly completed with tracks by Transplants, Mobb Deep, Alchemist, and GZA and several popular Mash Up mix tapes already out. Finally, he plans to release a Mash-Up re-release of the upcoming Grandmasters album with GZA.
With this latest collaboration, hip-hop heads are about to get an album which combines two of the most gifted music makers in the business. DJ Muggs vs. GZA: Grandmasters drops October 25th, 2005.

Welcome to the SickSide once again ya’ll!!! The boys is back at it... What happens when Sick Jacken and DJ FM of Psycho Realm and Street Platoon’s Crow & Cynic come together? Nothin’ but SickSide Stories! Collectively they’re known as Sick Symphonies and this Los Angeles based quartet are unleashing their signature sounds on the world once again.
Their new album, SickSide Stories, which was released Tuesday, marks the birth of a new era. To see what I’m talking about, you’ll have to peep the Exclusive Video Interview that our very own LatinaBeatz conducted not too long ago with the squad. The 4 emcee/producers sat down with DubCNN and brokedown the new album, how they all four of them met, their “situation” with B-Real back in the day, their influences and much more. They also give insight into what Duke, the member of Psycho Realm and Jack’s brother, has been up to, since he was shot a few years back in Los Angeles.
Peep the Exclusive Sick Symphonies Video Interview now!!!
For ya'll still on 56K, here's the Transcription

1123791512 - January 1, 1970 By : Back in the late 80's, Mellow Man Ace blazed the game with his blingual Classic hit "Mentirosa." A few years later, his brother, Sen Dog, along with B-Real and DJ Muggs revolutionized Hip Hop with their Dark sound and weed induced rhymes. Since then, Sen and Mellow have led very different careers.
Sen has went to bask in the success of Cypress Hill, as well as his ventures with rock group SX-10. Mellow has dropped a string on Independent albums and has continued doing shows on the regular. But now, Cypress is on the rocks themselves... Muggs is doing his Mash Up Radio thing very heavy, B-Real is doing the solo thing, as is Sen.
Now Senen and Ulpiano Reyes, better known as the Reyes Bros. are ready to drop their heat together as a duo. This is the first real album they've recorded together. Dropping on Sen's Latin Thug Records, their album is entitled "Ghetto Therapy." Sen and Mellow are bringing the heat and working with some of the hottest Producers in the game. Look for it around the first quarter of 06.
Staying ahead of the game, I spoke with Sen Dog and Mellow outside of a concert a little while ago. It was while they were mixing down the album. So some of the info, the release date and album title, can only be found on the front page and is not stated in the video. Nonetheless, listen to Sen Dog and Mellow Man Ace explain their upcoming album as they drop names like Warren G, Snoop Dogg, B-Real and Nate Dogg as contributers to the album:
Reyes Bros. Speak On Their New Album
Now, here's some snippets of songs from their up coming album:
Birdie Birdie Bulletproof Featuring B Real and Jay Killa Give Me A Sip H.A.R.D. If I Die I Lied Its Goin Down Its Official Traffic Featuring Supa Slip You Dont Know Me Wild Wild West

1128367280 - January 1, 1970 By : The Wake Up Show's Sway and King Tech prepare for the next release off their Bolo Entertainment/Bungalo Records label. Chino XL, the East Coast bred, Los Angeles resident, is finally hitting the industry with his LONG awaited album. Even with the industry and personal problems holding him back a little, Chi is ready to put another dent in the industry. With Fat Joe repping Latino's in the Mainstream Hip-Hop, and artists like Pitbull's popularity growing fast, Chino XL, the original Puerto Rican Superhero, is still fighting for Hip-Hop with his brutal truth through rhyme. In anticipation to his upcoming release, Chino XL recently appeared on the Sway and King Tech produced "Back to Basics" compilation. Chi also headlined the album's multi-city concert tour. Chino continues to gain the respect and love of his fans and industry colleagues. With his newest and most anticipated project in the making, as well as the backing of his new label, Chino plans to live up to the expectations placed upon him locally and across the world. Check out his November feature in Rime Magazine for more exciting details on his return.
Chino has been out West for a while now, he's worked with the likes of B-Real, Ras Kass and Xzibit. In 1996, along with Xzibit, Chino teamed with the Long Beach duo, Tha Mexakinz. He did two songs on their sophomore release and ever since then, they've been running together. Sinful of Tha Mexakinz has been doing his solo thing, along with working with I-Man on the new Mexakinz album, for a while now. He's been remixing tracks right and left. He recently Remixed Rich Boy and Pitbull's "Get To Popping."
Well, Sinful hit the studio again and rehashed something new on the same beat. With a treacherous trio of Chino XL, Sinful and Pitbull holding down the verses and Sick Jacken of Sick Symphonies on the hook, the song has nothing but potential to be hot.
Check it out:
Chino XL, Sick Jacken, Sinful & Pitbull - Latinos Stand Up ("Get To Poppin' Remix")

1129057085 - January 1, 1970 By : "Que ondas muchacho, ay vienes te miro, Si me traes bronca, me aloco de atiro, Me paro, te tumo, no es tu rumbo, Y con el lingo talvez te confudo"
Ya'll remember those opening bars to a verse from the classic "Tres Delinquentes." Possibly one of the most influential tracks for all West Coast Latinos in Hip Hop. Sadly, Delinquent Habits no longer carry the same line up they did back then. As most already know, Kemo The Blaxican has went solo. He put out Simple Plan, his first solo effort, about a year ago.
He's pushing a new project now. His 5 song EP Kind Of Stories. It's all new tracks written and produced by The Blaxican himself. Only one feature and that's from Pico Union's pride and joy, Sick Jacken of Sick Symphonies. Of course, we have a preview of it, courtesy of Kemo.
You won't see any other major Website rep Latinos like this, even if those other sites are packed with Latinos! You know your number 1 source for All Things HIP HOP.
Tracklist:
1. King Of Stories 2. Nobody Likes 3. No Que No 4. El Negocio feat. Sick Jacken 5. I Drink She Smokes
We got the title track for ya'll right here. The song starts off with an exerpt of the 1993 Robert Dinero directed A Bronx Tale. He uses some laid back keys and comes with rhymes like:
"...4 Blocks Down The Way, A Man Beats On His Wife, Now I Ain't Captain Save A Hoe, But Shit Like That Got To Go"
Download Kemo The Blaxican - Kind Of Stories
Next up we got a snippet of the song with Sick Jacken. This is a Spanish track, but even if you don't understand that language it's still hot.
Check it out: Kemo The Blaxican feat. Sick Jacken - El Negocio (Snippet)

The Los Angeles duo released their new album Change on their joint venture with the legendary DJ Muggs, Angeles Records. The label boasts an amazing line up consisting on Muggs, Self Scientific, the San Diego vet Mitchy Slick, Wu Tang Swordsman GZA and L.A.'s Mixtape King himself, DJ Warrior. But, let's not get too far off topic here!
I've had the pleasure of hearing Change and I was very satisfied. The album was entirely produced by Khalil with the only features, outside of hooks, being Planet Asia, Bun B and Kombo. Chace and Khalil continue to show their immense chemistry on every track.
If you enjoyed their first album The Self Science, Chace's Mixtape with Muggs Last Assassin, any of Khalil's Productions of Keith Murray, 50 Cent, G-Unit, Xzibit, Tony Yayo albums or the Strong Arm Steady Mixtapes, then you'll have no problem getting into this album.
Now on to the Interview. Smokes, Henz and RJO of RapTalk.net heading down to San Bernardino 2 weeks ago for Live At The Op, a concert with Self Scientific, DJ Muggs and Gza, Twista, Mack 10, B-Real and many more. They linked up with a lot of people while they were out there and, as the site is in the process of being re-launched, conducted an Interview with Chace and Khalil for Dubcnn.
They talk about their new album, how they connected with Muggs, up and coming projects and much more. But, that's not at all, myself and Justin had the pleasure of hitting up their show at the Conga Room this past weekend. We got 15 minutes of the group performing with a live band. They perform a few cuts off the new album, so just in case you're not sure of what Self Scientific has to offer, you can get an idea. Shouts to DJ Rhettmatic who makes a little cameo at the beginning!
Here's The Track Listing: 01. Intro 02. Change 03. Balance - feat. Kombo 04. King Kong - feat. Bun B of UGK 05. Tears 06. When I Die - feat. Planet Asia 07. Weight Of The World 08. 2 Step 09. One of Hip Hop's elite Producers DJ Muggs and one of the most well respected emcees in the game, GZA come together and create Grandmasters. This heavily anticipated collaboration was released Today on Angeles Records. On paper alone, it created an astonishing buzz among those in the Hip-Hop world. The New York born, South Gate, California raised, DJ Muggs laid down his distinct dark-gloomy sound as the back drop for the GZA's lyrical tirades.
GZA and Muggs bring together a few of their Wu-Tang and Cypress Hill brethen, respectively, for guest spots on the album. Features include the Abbot himself, RZA, The Chef Raekwon, the underrated Masta Killa, the Mad Dog Sen Dog and Prodigal Sunn.
The first time these two collabed was back in 1997, on the first installment of the Soul Assassins albums. 8 years later, they've finally completed an album together. GZA and RZA team up for a tribute to Ol Dirty Bastard using they namesake of their old group, as a trio, as the name of the song: “All In Together Now.” Other stand out tracks include “General Principles,” “Advance Pawns,” and “Those That's Bout It.”
A little over a week ago, the RapTalk.net staff hit Live At The Op, which saw performances from Sick Symphonies to Twista in San Bernardino. They conducted a string of Interviews, including the Self Scientific interview that was posted earlier. They conduct this Muggs interview for DubCNN, as well. They talk about how he got started in the rap game, how Angeles Records got started, how the Grandmasters album came about and more.

1135277809 - January 1, 1970 By : "I Love L.A., But It's A Jungle, We Come From The Darkest Corner's, Where All The Street Kids Rumble" - B-Real
The Soul Assassins are not playing around in 2006. The Crew will be dropping 4 Mixtapes and an album. On top of that, they're still pushing the Angeles Records releases of DJ Muggs vs. Gza and Self Scientific, whom recently shot a video for "Life & Breathe." Not to mention the soon to be released album by Mitchy Slick and DJ Warrior. But, for now, they have Take Aim: Assassination Day Is Coming" on their mind.
We hit you up with info on the Mixtape here a few days ago, now we got a little audio preview of the Tape for you.
In the 80's in South Gate, California Louis Freeze (B-Real), Senen Reyes (Sen Dog) and Larry Muggerud (DJ Muggs) linked up together to make a group named after a street in their city, Cypress Hill. Since then, they've dropped 7 group albums, an album in Spanish, an EP, Live Album, DVD and much more. On Take Aim... The group has a hot track called "Beyond L.A.." With Muggs sampling the 1978-Ambrosia track of the same name, is looking like the L.A. Anthem of the 06, already. Check it out for yourself:
Cypress Hill - Beyond L.A.
Don't forget, August 29th, 2006, complete's the triology with "The Soul Assassins Ch. 3." Also, if it already slipped you're mind, here's some info on the Take Aim... Mixtape.
The Mixtape will feature DJ Khalil remixes of "We All Die Some Day" by Eminem, 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks and Obie Trice and "Destruction Of A Guard" by Muggs, Gza and Ras Kass. Expect some Exclusives from Cypress Hill, Mobb Deep, Rakim, Alchemist, Evidence of Dilated Peoples, Mitchy Slick, even Dr. Dre and Eminem. You already know Chace Infinite and DJ Khalil aka Self Scientific are gonna be on the Mixtape, along with Kombo, Phil Da Agony, Sen Dog, B-Real and Snoop Dogg.

1138262550 - January 1, 1970 By : "L to the O to the S to the A to the N to the G to the E to the L to the E to the S, CA come around here homie, come and see how we play!" - B-Real
Back in 1996, West L.A. emcee O.Brown started a group called Trilogy with his cousin N.E.V., and Javie Lopez (Whom we've featured on here many times). After making a number of tracks and doing a string of shows in the L.A. area, suddenly N.E.V. decided to leave the group for personal reasons. O.Brown and Javie Lopez then brought along Bernard Williams aka Kaos, leading things for Trilogy to go in the right direction. In 2003, the whole world stopped. Kaos had passed away at the young age of 29.
Two years after the death of his partner in rhyme, O.Brown has completed his debut album, “Day In A Life,” on Sen Dog Cypress Hill's label, LatinThugRecords.com. The Album will be in stores in the Summer of 2006, featuring production from B-Real and Kriv. His lyrics are described as "filled with feeling, his love for the game and the loss of his best friend." Although, O.Brown holds Mellow Man Ace and B-Real of Cypress Hill as his main influences on the mic, he was stays deeply in touch with his roots. Though, born and raised in South Central, his Father being from Belize, introduced him to Reggae music at a young age. This has been a huge influence to his Hip Hop style. His Mother, from Mexico, is where he get's his Latin vibes.
You may have heard the emcee on B Real’s Gunslinger Mixtape, on "Never Back Down" which also featured Mellow Man Ace. His debut single is ready to set the West Coast on fire. Entitled “Los Angeles,” and featuring a hot B-Real hook and verse, with the beat being provided by XL, it's sure to be a West Coast anthem for 2006. Look out for the Remix with Carson's newest hope, the Aftermath signee, Bishop Lamont. Look for O.Brown's collab with songstress MiMi as well.
We have both the song AND video for your eyes and ears to enjoy. Check those out below!

1140744484 - January 1, 1970 By : San Diego's hope Mitchy Slick is finally ready to release his sophomore album. After the smash album "Triggeration Station", Mitchy had everybody fiending for more Wrong Kind music. He's also part of the Strong Arm Steady crew with Xzibit, Krondon & Phil Da Agony. Now, after settling for Angeles Records as his new home, Mitch is set to drop his highly anticipated "Urban Survival Syndrome" on May 16th 2006.
Check out the official press release below:
After releasing two huge albums in one day on October 25, 2005 – DJ Muggs vs. GZA/The Genius “Grandmasters” and Self Scientific “Change” – Angeles Records has announced the next big thing…Urban Survival Syndrome from MITCHY SLICK . Urban Survival Syndrome, or USS, will hit the streets on May 16th, 2006.
After building a name for himself on the local scene in San Diego, also known as the “Salty D,” with his independent label Wrong Kind Records and his smash independent album “Triggeration Station” Mitchy became a member of the Strong Arm Steady crew alongside Xzibit, Krondon and Phil the Agony. After working with DJ Khalil, and building a business friendship with DJ Muggs, Mitchy chose Angeles Records for the home of Urban Survival Syndrome. “My thing was that Muggs and them got a steady track record of keeping they businesses running. I peeped they style and how they get down it wasn’t like most of these labels that’s really a gang or ‘hood or family-oriented – Angeles just seemed like a regular record label to me. ‘Cause I’m about business, I’ve already done a lot of ‘hood shit, now it’s about business,” explains Mitchy.
DJ Muggs is equally excited about the working relationship with Mitchy and the upcoming album, “Mitch has a great work ethic, and he’s built himself a following already. I’ve been peeping him for a while – the way he moves is straight business and he understands the way the game works – on top of being the next big thing out of the west,” Muggs explains. “When I got him in the studio, he works like a vet. Ya’ll better recognize Mitchy Slick…the new West.”
The album’s title, Urban Survival Syndrome, is based on an actual disorder. After releasing Triggeration Station, Mitchy came up with the title for USS because Urban Survival Syndrome is a last option used in murder cases or urban-area cases. There was a cat named Damian Osby – he caught 2 murder beefs in Texas. He basically tried to use the fact that he didn’t have no other choice because of his environment and what he grew up having to endure. That was his defense plea in his case, just like post-trauma! tic stress disorder.”
Unlike many “gangsta rappers” and studio gangsters, Mitchy Slick is the product of the rough streets of San Diego – a place where youth are bred to become gang members. Mitchy himself was indoctrinated into gang life in the most unlikely of places – a youth football league. “Pop Warner was the hangout, and the Pop Warner colors were the color of my gang. That’s slick though, I’m 9 years old, I’m the quarterback, the linebacker is lookin’ at me crazy, and they got on the color that their gang wear – the red and black – and I got on the color my neighborhood wear – green – and at 9 years old, you expect me to make the right choice about gangbanging?”!
Mitchy Slick is a new breed of street MC, who hustles harder at the music business than he did in the streets. And with production from DJ Muggs, DJ Khalil, and Fredwreck; Urban Survival Syndrome is sure to rock the streets and the airwaves alike.

This time we have a mixtape courtesy of Dow Jones, a name familiar to most with his "Play Your Position" series and the work with his West Coast Livin Promotions & Marketing company.
The mixtape in question is Volume 5 of that world famous series in question; "Play Your Position: Volume 5", hosted by Cavie. Cavie is a name some will be familiar with following his production work on the massive selling album "King" from T.I. however the producer is now ready to "Do his 'Kanye West' thing" and showcase his skills in the booth rather than behind the board.
Hailing from the West Coast, Cavie has been en-trusted by T.I. to play a huge role in The King's newly-formed Grand Hustle West label. To make sure the streets know the drill, Dow Jones & Cavie have linked on this mixtape to take you from the West to the Dirty South. The mixtape features 30 banging tracks with artists including Kokane, Kam, T.I., E-40, Spider Loc, Mitchy Slick, Crooked I, Jody Breeze, Lil' Wayne, Mr. Short Khop, Tray Dee amongst others.
