KDay – Power 106 Rivalry?

0

The homie Toon from DPG Recordz asked me to post this message for ya’ll, it is concerning the recent relaunch of KDay (93.5) and the reaction to that by Power 106 & The Beat. Check it out:

Before I explain, get this straight: I’m riding for Julio G. That’s my dogg; I don’t think he’ll ever know how much he helped me, but if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be working with Daz and the DPGz today. So you can understand why I have to post this info.

Let me start by mentioning for those that don’t know that the return of GOOD RADIO is on in Southern California! LA radio listeners were shocked and thrilled to learn that JULIO G and KDAY returned to the airwaves a couple of months ago (tune in at 93.5). Not surprising, however, was the reaction of rival stations Power and The Beat. After years of commercialized programming that only played music from the highest bidder, both stations have been trying desperately to copy the format, going as far as to alter programming to mirror that of KDAY, but to no avail.

And then this happened… Power 106 as a station (and specific DJ’s such as Felli Fel and the wacc-ass Goodfellaz), have apparently issued private statements to artists as follows: “If any artist records radio promos for Julio G or grants KDAY on-air radio interviews, that artist’s records will be immediately removed from Power 106 rotation.”

Regardless of my personal opinions of Power (and The Beat), their DJ’s, or the music they play, this is absolutely a bitch move. So from today onward, my dial doesn’t even HAVE 105.9 on it. F**k a goodfella, f**k a steve harvey.

KDAY 93.5. Toon in.
