Some of the greatest MCs that ever touched a mic have past away while others have retired, but the streets is talking and everyone wants to know who has what it takes to elevate the rap game to another level.
In Hip Hop, it is about survival of the fittest and Al Gator a.k.a. モDa Free Agentヤ is definitely ready to put the rap game on his back.
The question is are we ready for him?
23 year-old Georgia native, Alden モAl Gatorヤ Portress grew up in the streets of College Park where initially he started working in music production. Shortly thereafter Gator formed a rap group, with the Hip Hop artists now known as Ludacris and DTP, called モPlayaz Circleヤ this enabled him to sharpen his writing skills as well as his lyrical prowess.
In less than two years of writing and battling, Gator has received a tremendous amount of critical acclaim being compared to rap elites such as Nas & Jay-Z in their earlier careers. As the Source Magazineメs unsigned talent to watch in 2005, Gator is making everyone aware that southern hip-hop is going to take on a totally different meaning once heメs officially in the game.
After listening to his infectious flow, heavy hitting producers in the game such as The Alchemist, Focus (Aftermath Ent.), Dent, Midi Mafia, Mr. DJ from Organized Noise, and Rick Rock have proven that Gator has what it takes to lace even their flyest beats. モMan, this dude is hot,ヤ says Focus (Aftermath Ent.).
Aside from working with the some of the best producers in the game, Gator has created a buzz on the underground scene by independently moving over 3000 units of his first mixtape entitled モDa Free Agent Vol. 1.ヤ
Gator has been approached by A&R executives from Island Def Jam, Star Trak Entertainment, Soso Def Recordings, TVT Records, Blackbaby Ent. and Roc-A-Fella Records.
