Tuesday July 5, 2005, San Francisco, CA- West Coast rising star, Balance signs with San Francisco, CA based Independent record label, SMC Recordings. Over the past year, Oakland, CA native, Balance has become one the hottest unsigned acts in the country. After building a deafening buzz on mixtapes and hailed as the next rapper to blow in publications like XXL, Billboard and The Source, Balance has been courted left and right by labels- both major and independent alike.
His choice for SMC/Fontana was simple. ﾓI was getting callﾒs from the majors but Iﾒve always wanted to stick with the Bay tradition of being independent- at least for my first album. I chose SMC/ Fontana because theyﾒre track record for Bay Area artists speaks for itself, and theyﾒve broken new acts. Plus theyﾒre really behind me on this project.ﾔ

Balance joins veterans Bizzy Bone, B-Legit and San Quinn on the SMC/Fontana roster. His debut Young & Restless is slated for release this September and features guest appearances by Stat Quo, Chamillionaire, Keak Da Sneak and The Frontline.
