Scarface from the Geto Boys has recorded a reality show track with the Houston-based vocal group, Seville. The track, “The Love Is Gone” is the lead single off the groups debut album, “713 Seville Test Drive.” The group, whose style blends a smooth brand of hiphop and soul-influenced R&B flavor, has already made a name for themselves prior to their debut album release. They have already graced popular tracks, including two on Lil Flip’s “Undaground Legend” album, “I Shoulda Listened” and “Tonight.” Now these four Houston-based vocalists, Stef (Stephen Samuels), C-Moe (Christopher Moore), Geno (Eugene Earls) and Ced B (Cedric Douglas James Bishop III) will be taking listeners on a seventeen track “713 Seville Test Drive.”
The single’s collaborator Scarface, who has a long list of platinum and gold albums to his name took time out, for the first time ever, to record a track with a vocal group : “Itメs the first time that Iメve ever rapped on a song with a group that sung. I thought it was pretty cool. You have to adjust to the situation. Iメm thrilled to death that they even had me on their song, honestly!” said Scarface.
“The Love Is Gone,” has a twist to it that could make for an explosive episode on the “Montel Williams Show.” Sevilleメs C-Moe explains: “The conversation at the beginning of the song is real. That was not a skit.” As it happens, in the studio Scarface was having a conversation on the phone with a girl, and they were having some relationship problems, the tape was rolling, and it ended up in the song. “Then, I broke up with her. This is real, Itメs a great song” added Scarface. When asked what he thinks will happen when his ex hears the song, Face nodded his head and said: “Sheメs going to recall the conversation.”
“Scarface is a legend down South, this is definitely a highlight in my life to be able to record with Scarface.” proclaims Gene. Stef adds, “The song is jammin. Itメs definitely going to make people listen.” Ced B explains, “Thereメs a man in a situation with a female, and the relationship is all but gone.” The track is produced by platinum-selling producer, Joe Traxx, a video to the single has just been filmed and will be hitting stations soon.
