“Dangerous Goodz” Found In Long Beach

0

Emerging out of Long Beach California comes a duo with an existing buzz and a hunger for more. Dangerous Goodz were introduced to me last year by a good friend of mine at Songbuz Magazine and i did a small article on the album and premiered a track off their debut album, “Change Gone Come”. Since then the group have had the streets of L.A. buzzing and successfully pushed thousands of units out the back of the truck. The duo compises of Qwest (Earl Siler) and Outwest (Jonathan Grier) who both grew up on hip-hop listening to a collective of artists such as Run DMC, N.W.A., L.L. Cool J, Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD & Ice T.

This love of music dug deeper than the average listener, from early on they they learned to appreciate music regardless of which coast it was coming from.

The two met upon entering 5th grade and as ever at that age a friendship developed which over time has formed into a long-term friendship that has seen out many years. In that time the pair have partaken in the various elements of hip-hop such as break-dancing & free-styling. From the outset the love of the lifestyle and culture had the two convinced of their career calling; music. Soon they got together during recess to battle one another for what they called, “King of the School.” Elementary soon became Junior High and later High School; as the two grew closer the rhymes grew doper. A decade on and several groups later the pair formed Dangerous Goodz in 2003. The process of recording their debut album “Change Gone Come,” saw them rack up 46 songs giving them the chance to select the best material. 22 tracks made the cut and the album was borne. With production from Space Age, Wutzhiznayme, Tony Bravoe & Quake they managed to create a sound that put them in a niche. Since the album release the group has had the pleasure to perform in the company of various well known, established artists such as Snoop Dogg, Too Short, Mausberg & Tyrese Gibson to name a few. As if that wasn’t enough they have also had their music featured in movies including “Bank Brothers,” & “I Accidentally Domed Your Son.”

With all that packed into a busy 2005 the duo have now set their sights on an even more successful 2006 and have allowed us to release three tracks from their debut for you the readers to enjoy. Please take some time to listen to the music and drop feedback over at our forum. We will have more news and audio from the duo over the coming months.
