Today we are proud to present the first single from Diego Redd which will be on his new mixtape; “Getting Money, Getting Paid” which, thanks to dubcnn’s help is being put together and released by the prolific westcoast DJ, DJ Warrior who has produced mixtapes for Ice Cube, The Game and countless others.
Since we introduced Diego Redd to our readers earlier this year with an On The Come Up feature as well as an Exclusive Interview we have received an influx of interest and support for the 25 year old MC. “California Girls” is the single that aims to generate even more of a buzz than when Kanye West said that he was; “One of the hottest out of the west or all over the United States.”
Since we last heard from Diego Redd he has been buzz building across the country with appearences and meetings from NY to Cali where people have been agreeing that this artist has the talent to be a major force from the west – the plan with the single is to ensure every kid with an ipod and every hustler with a banging system in his ride is saying it too. With “California Girls” Diego Redd has created an anthem thats sure to make heads knock fro LA, through Fresno and over to the Bay. From there it ain’t a thing for the rest of the country to catch on to “California Girls.” The track which is an ode to the women of the Golden State, could be seen as cross between the classic “California Love” and “Area Codes” – in that its repping the place where you stay and the girls you meet along the way. Pairing Diego’s undeniable mic prescense and charisma with a bouncy Gutta Fam beat that has a Dr. Dre feel to it “California Love” will have women throughout the state shouting out their cities while in the club.

Diego Redd is currently wrapping up the “Getting Money, Getting Paid” mixtape as well as his as yet untitled album. His nationwide exploits have landed him recording with som big names in NY and LA, as well as working with platinum producer Needlz (50 Cent, Ludacris).
