With 2007 quickly gathering momentum one of the Westcoast’s biggest underground label’s has released its record release plan for the coming year.
The label, part of the DJ Muggs / Soul Assassins brand will include, among others, “The Soul Assassins Collection.” Picking up where Muggs Vs GZA “Grandmasters” left off, DJ Muggs is currently teaming up with Jacken of Psycho Realm/Sick Symphonies for a Muggs Vs Sick Jacken album, as well as “King Medallions” – the alter ego of one of your favorite underground emcees, for the “Muggs Vs King Medallions” project.
Along with that will be the long awaited DJ Muggs “Soul Assassins 3” album which we reported on throughout much of last year, the album is set to be in the style that Muggs himself pioneered. – dark, hardcore and underground.
2007 will also see the release of the “Black & Brown Underground” album, a collaboration effort between Self Scientific and Sick Symphonies. The album will focus on the long time Los Angeles rivalry between the Black and Hispanic community, as well as promoting unity between the two for the new generations.
Self Scientific, as we exclusively revealed last year, will be putting out their second full length album on Angeles Records entitled “Come In Peace, Prepare For War.” Expect more consciously charged lyrics from Chace Infinite and some of LA’s hottest beats from producer DJ Khalil.
Later in the year you can expect the long awaited “Cali Untouchable Radio” album from DJ Warrior as well as a debut album from a group we exclusively revealed existed last year; Warfare, a combination of Skinhead Rob (Transplants) and Damu – the album is to be produced entirely by Travis Barker.
