Ever the breaking ground for talented new artists from across the Hip-Hop arena, Dubcnn keeps up its well established tradition with the unveiling of a rarity – a female MC.
Having been born in Northern California, Finess spent much of her youth moving from city to city across the state before finding roots in Los Angeles. Finess has been refining her craft over recent years having found at a young age that writing was the best outlet to express herself; “I like to write about what goes on around me” Finess explains.
With a seductive storytelling style, Finess emerged onto the rap scene with music that can appeal to both sexes in 2005. Her initial recording led her to create a full-length album “Finess Is” which had the goal of making people aware of who ‘Finess Is’. In October of 2006, Finess released her first mixtape, “Kiss the Rest Goodbye,” the cover to which can be seen here, which helped to solidify her name locally and increase her online fanbase.
