It’s been three years since we first introduced you to Los Angeles native E-Knoc. Since then he has been a Dubcnn regular, releasing his debut street album The Promise Land as well as gaining widespread acclaim with his popular FryDay Freestyle Series. If you missed any of these you need to check them out!

It’s been six months since we last heard off E-Knoc however he hasn’t been idle, he’s been working on his follow up street album which we have been presented with for Free Download.

The “Trouble Music” EP is the long awaited sophomore release and features production from Sega, IIRaw, T Money, John Doe and Curious Beats.

“Trouble Music” is another seamless, versatile body of work thought provoking lyrics and a blend of soulful cuts (“Never Get Over You”) as well as hard hitting beats (“Real N-gga Sh-t”). With this release E-Knoc definitely shows that he is one of a talented group of young MCメs coming out of the West that the industry needs to take note of – in fact few are more well rounded and have more commercial viability than this 23 year old.

A modest 8 songs, the EP manages to cover a tremendous amount of ground in such a short time span. As E-Knoc spits potent, well delivered rhymes in his raspy, rich, tenor over solid production that ranges from fly to grim. No two songs sound alike as E-Knoc further proves his point that he is a force to be reckoned with in the New Era of rap music.

“This is something the game needs right now. Dope music from a new perspective. Iメm proud of how the EP came out” explains E-Knoc.
