SMC is a label keeping very busy these days. Their artists from around the country have been releasing stellar albums throughout the year. Keeping with their roots and never forgetting their hometown, SMC teamed up with another major independent label from the Bay Area, Thizz Nation. These two powerhouses are eager to introduce the Bay Area’s next rising stars to the world, joined together they will release albums as Town Thizness, concentrating exclusively on artists from Oakland, California aka "The Town".

"The concept is to take buzz worthy acts or conceptual projects from Oakland, CA- make great albums, sell them cheap to introduce them and slowly but surely start building fans," explains Stretch, the CEO of Thizz Nation.

This is not unfamiliar territory for the two labels, Thizz Nation & SMC have had joint past success with 2007’s Da Bidness, which featured Bay Area super group; PSD Tha Drivah, Keak Da Sneak & Messy Marv and the successful 2007 summer release, "Da Baydestrian," from breakout artist, Mistah F.A.B. The two labels are looking to continue their trend of quality Bay Area albums with three new releases this year:

The first Town Thizzness release is Beeda Weeda – "Da Thizzness" coming to you August 26th, followed by J-Stalin‘s "Gas Nation" in stores September 23rd, and G-Stack’s "Dr. Purp Thump" out October 21st. Another eagerly anticipated project set for release through Town Thizzness will be N.E.W. Oakland, a group consisting of Mistah F.A.B., Beeda Weeda & J-Stalin, to be released at the top of 2009.
