We have a very special drop for all the West Coast Hip-Hop heads today. A few days ago we received the “Rhymes Within Reason” project, a 10-track EP collaboration between West Covina, CA, rapper Trek Life and up and coming producer J. Bizness (Illregular Instrumentals) from Ontario, CA.
Trek Life should be no stranger to our visitors, you’ve seen him collaborate with dubcnn regulars Bishop Lamont and Mykestro. Together with J. Bizness, he created a combination of raw West Coast edge mixed with classic Hip-Hop soul, the fruit of 5+ years of chemistry between the two.
The project was released for free download recently via illregularinstrumentals.com and we were given the green light to drop it for all the dubcnn readers as well.
With Trek Life as the main emcee, this album also features rhymes and vocals from Mykestro, Oddisee, Wyann Vaughn, Richard Wright and Ragen Fykes. Combining a true West Coast sound with hard drums and gritty chops, J. Bizness sets the perfect backdrop for Trek Life to paint vivid hip-hop portraits, leaving the listener with no choice but to “run that back again.”
