A while ago, Dubcnn put together an open contest for our community that involved producer C Major, who is known for his work with Ca$his / Shady Records. We received a huge response from all of the many entries, even more than we anticipated ヨ and the contest was an overall tremendous success.
One of the song winners was an artist by the name of Seven who hails from the West Coast and right now his song called モLife Ainメt Easyヤ that won this exclusive Dubcnn contest is being played on Power 106 in LA ヨ the top ranked Rhythmic formatted radio station in the United States. Not only is the song being played in Los Angeles ヨ but also on other commercial and college radio stations scattered throughout the country and it is quickly gaining momentum on the airwaves. Itメs a great feeling to know that if it wasnメt for Dubcnn, this song wouldnメt even exist or would it be playing on major radio today.
Seven had the following statement for Dubcnn:
“Iメve been following Dubcnn for a few years now and I like how you all keep the fans updated with all the latest news on all [the] West Coast music and its artists. On one of my many days logging on to the site, I saw Dubcnn had posted a contest for artistメs to submit a song for a chance to be produced by C Major from Shady Records. I submitted a song, and soon after I received an email, with an instrumental saying I had been chosen to participate in this contest. I knocked the song out and sent it back in for it to be judged by the staff at Dubcnn. A little while later, I received an email from Dubcnn saying I was the winner of the contest. Honestly, I couldn’t believe it. I don’t think I have ever won anything in my life. I thought the song was cool, but I never imagined it would win. Now a year later, we have shot a video for the song and it is currently playing on over 15 commercial, college, and internet radio stations throughout the U.S. I would like to thank everyone at Dubcnn for the support they have given me and for giving Indie Artists like myself the opportunity to get heard and to connect with a bigger audience through their website and forums. Thanks Dubcnn for making the West Coast shine once again.”
Lisa Thomas from LRT Music Group (and also Sevenメs manager) had the following thing to say about モLife Ainメt Easyヤ and how Dubcnn impacted this single:
モSeven has a lot of great music. He gave me a CD of several songs that he had just completed and, as I was listening, I heard a song called モLife Ainメt Easy.ヤ Instantly, I knew it was a great song and I loved how the lyrics portrayed the struggles we all have and go through. I asked him about this song and he told me how the birth of this hit was through Dubcnn. So, I took it to Power 106 — met with E-Man (program director) and Seven also went to Power 106 and he did a meet and greet with the radio stations and all the DJメs loved it and they put it on the モNew @ 2 Mixed Showヤ and keep playing the song as it has a large request from the audience. It is being played now with the heavy hitters, he is in good company. With Sevenメs raw talent with true words and emotion, backed with C Majorメs incredible beat, not too mention LRT behind him, Seven has a masterpiece and itメs all because of Dubcnn. Thank you all so very much!ヤ
Seven has his album dropping through LRT Music Group soon and right now he has a mixtape out called モPublic Enemyヤ by Julian Ramirez of The Cali Untouchables that features Jayo Felony, Baby Bash, C Murder, Spider Loc, L.V. (from South Central Cartel) and L.A Nash.
