It never ceases to amaze me how many artists Dubcnn has covered since we went live in 2002. Some were already household names, some have since become names known to many, while others fade away. One artist we covered way back in 2005 was an up an coming emcee out of the I.E. by the name of SkiLL.
In 2005 we dropped his self titled mixtape – which we still have in our archives, check SkiLL – Tha Mixtape Volume 1 – as well as tracks that were to be from Volume 2 including a record with 40 Glocc called “The Dino”.
Since that update in 2005 SkiLL hasnt featured on Dubcnn – until today! Just recently we got an
email from the IE artist who has a new agenda.
SkiLL aims to use his music to approach listeners from a new angle, as he puts it; “Use my music to expose fake rappers and religious hypocrites, discuss religion, the new world order agenda’s, the extremities of a true relationship with God, true joy, all the while telling hood stories and looking at the direction that the youth are going in.”
To showcase this SkiLL has sent us some music to release, firstly a record called “The West Coast Didnt Fade Away” produced by Da Saint, followed by a track entitled “In This 2 Win This” produced by Tristan Giallani and finally a 3 Track Sampler mix featuring music from hus in-house production team – check them below.
