Toronto native and – for those who don’t know Dubcnn fan and forum member – Boi-1da has really taken the industry by storm over the past couple of years. In March 2009 we caught him for an exclusive video interview when he called into the Dubcnn offices.
It was evident early on that he was destined for success, after all he did what few producers can claim to have done – produced a beat that made Dr. Dre hyped enought to drop a verse over [the remix of the Kardinal Offishall single Set It Off].
Boi-1da racked up album tracks and hits with Ludacris, Trey Songz, G-Unit and then in the last 12 months has just accelerated, some productions that appeared on Dubcnn have included Not Afraid for Eminem, the Rebstar record Good Life with Drake and the Konvict Muzic duo Rock City and then just this week appeared on the acclaimed Game Hood Morning [No Typo] [Candy Coronas] [Stream It!] mixtape with the haunting “Monsters In My Head” track.
Today we are back as Boi-1da is about to rack up another chart hit as he has laced the beat to the single for Drake’s sophomore full-lenght album “Take Care” with the record, “Headlines” – check it below.
