We’re back with the podcast of Home Grown Radio with Chuck Dizzle, Miss Bliss & DJ Hed. We started this week off by catching up with Lil Bam. The Long Beach native speaks on the early days of not wanting to rap, making an impact with Twenty Twenty Vision and why he makes it a point to properly represent his city.

Bam also goes into dealing with street life as it pertains to the music biz, the digital distribution deal he has on the table with Island/Def Jam, adjusting to online vs. street marketing and music consumers as a whole.

We also pressed play on some upcoming music from a project he has in the works entitled Point Guard of the Street.

Later in the show we get a visit from Jay Rock, who’s fresh off the Independent Grind Tour with Tech N9ne. He spoke on the highly anticipated release of his debut album Follow Me Home, the other deals he had on the table and why he chose Strange Music as his new label home over the others. We also get into the dynamic of Top Dawg Ent. as a whole and why he feels they each deserve the level of success and attention they’re now receiving.

Throughout the show we played music new music by GB of the FrattHouse, Mykestro, Dom Kennedy, Quiz, Lady G Da Real Deal, YG $oprano, Blanco, Mistah F.A.B. and more. Also it was only right we closed things out by welcoming my folks from Black Fridai & Jazzy Management to speak on the 2nd Annual Western Awareness Conference taking place this Saturday (8-13-11) at the Galen Center (USC) hosted by myself and Diana Wehbe of 99.1 KGGI.
