Venice, California songwriter-producer Pause cut his chops fronting brass-ensemble funk bands on the west LA club scene, cementing a reputation as a top-line performer and bandleader. After seven years on stage, he took to the studio for his solo debut, “Pacific Rose”.
Channeling the spirit of the ’90s NorCal rap he grew up with ラ huge brassy beats, fat low-end, and a tuneful, conscious-style flow ラ “Pacific Rose” captures hip-hop at its most musical. The project features LA underground legend DOUBLE K of People Under The Stairs contributing beats, verses and collaborations, and the album maintains the aesthetic of SoCal do-it-yourself hip-hop: soulful with a jagged edge, heady, and just enough sleazy polish.
