It’s been a little while since we did a Westcoast Wednesday but with all the N.W.A. movie updates we decided to dig one out the crates.
It’s inspired by a post on our daily social hashtag feature #W3STC6A5T on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram today with the April 2000 Source cover.
The cover – seen below – featured Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre who had then released two new N.W.A records in the last six months that went on to feature on an N.W.A. Greatest Hits album.
“Chin Check” – from the Next Friday soundtrack – and “Hello” which was the first single from Ice Cube’s sixth studio album War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc).
Both records stirred thoughts of a full N.W.A. reunion with the trio performing the track on TV shows at the time – none materialised but the new music was welcomed by many fans.
