Having released “Heroes In The Healing Of A Nation” back in March, Zion I and The Grouch have continued their relentless hustle over the year with shows and more media appearances. Today we are back with news that the duo have announced the return of Hella Fresh Fest on Friday, September 16th with Live Up Records with a plan of “uniting bay area hip-hop.”
On Friday, September 16th, at the historic Fillmore Ballroom in San Francisco, the duo will return to present the festival with an array of local talent from Tha Jacka & the Husalah of Mob Figaz, Latin hip-hop group Los Rakas, Trackademicks & the Honor Roll crew, and KMEL’s DJ Amen.
“Hella Fresh Fest is one night where we give the fans a showcase of the diversity of our region’s hip-hop scene,” notes Zumbi, emcee of Zion I and resident of Oakland for close to fifteen years. “This year fans will get a taste of boom bap, conscious rap, turf music, fresh coast, Plena/Reggaeton, Spanish hip-hop, new school hip-hop, and champagne soul music.”
“Rockinメ shows at the Fillmore is dope because of the legacy of acts that have been on that stage before,” explains Raka Rich, one-half of the Spanish hip-hop duo Los Rakas. “The fans are gonna get a dope show, and we get to show the whole Bay and the world how we get down on one stage.”
