naw it's cool my whole point is that if the blue print is classic, then obviously the hip hop standards have OBVIOUSLY dropped and just about any "good" or "alright" album can be considered a hip hop classic

Well As You Know I Aint The Biggest Dre Fan Out There, But I Think 2001 Was Double The Album That The Blueprint Will Ever Be. I Think Standards Of Hip Hop Albums Have Gradually Got Lower, Obviously That Doesnt Mean All The Albums That Are Coming Out Are Weak, But People Like Nelly Arent Doing The Hip Hop World Any Good.

You're entitled to your opinion just like the Source is entitled to theirs.  Different people like different albums-that's the way it is.  I dont think its fair to consider one album to be an absolute classic.  I like the way somebody referred to an album as "Classic in my eyes" just like 5 mics is a way of saying "Classic in the Source's eyes".  Guys-Relax.  Source liked the Blueprint and gave it 5 mics--so what?  They're entitled to their opinion just as your entitled to yours..And for what its worth the "Blueprint" is well liked by the majority of hip-hop fans and I know a LOT of non hip-hop fans that think the Blueprint is the best thing to come out in years.

2001 IS a classic.

I disagree with the Source about Blueprint getting 5 mics, but it does deserve 4 1/2.

Just because YOU don't like it soesn't mean it doesn't deserve any praise. I'm sure there are people in the world that don't like The Chronic either. Just becauseone man doesn't like it, doesn't mean that it's not a classic.

Basically, the CD is alright. I mean, it's better than Dynisty, which was a 4.5 in the Sources eyes, so I saw this coming. They love Jigga, but I don't even think it should go up there. The Source has been missing as of late. I mean with albums like AmeriKKKaz Most Wanted, Paid In Full, Tribe Called Quest 2 albums, and other classics, they let an above average album in the classics listings. No offense to Jigga, but this album wouldn't even be remembered next year, and it'll join the Outkast joint in the, what the hell were they thinking rating. Hey, even my eastcoast loving friend agreed that it's to biased to the eastcoast, or just Jigga after hearing this one.

yeah but alot of people liked mc hammer's "please hammer don't hurt em" but wheres the quality??

i'm not saying the blueprint is on the that sorry of an album but i'm asking the same question? wheres the quality??????????????????????????????????????

lyrics-every one bashes kurupts lyrics on space boogie including me and this board so his album is automatically sorry, but jay-z's were no better on this album then on space boogie......so i guess it's a classic becuase of the beats....

beats-....then again maybe not the production on this album was anything but solid, the only tracks with good or semi good beats were girls girls girls, hola hovito, song cry, and u don't know, every thing else becomes novelty and is VERY overlooped and mixed like shit

i don't get how the source can say that this album is FLAWLESS when this album is CLEARLY! CLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARLY chalk full of flaws

take over is this "praised" track but jay-z hardly ever rhymes and when he does it's simple shit like jigga/nigga

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah it's fucking fustrating

someone give me a logicle reason why this album is classic and to every please add album that are better than this album but didn't get the same praise

^^^Yuuup.

Yo but Jake is right............I mean if Source's dumbass gives Blueprint a 5, then in their "oppinion", Blueprint is better tha The Chronic, Doggystyle, Dre 2001, Marshall Mathers, E.1999 Eternal etc. etc.   because they didn't give any of those a 5, Sheeeeet In my oppinion they shouldn't even be entitled 2 dat "oppinion". Man I think there's some fuckin shit goin on beind tha scenes, They're alwayz much Too generous on East Coast albums............
