This is really crazy!! I mean this guy only had buzz on the net and lately on the radio and TV with Swimming Pools, but no top 50 single. Amazing! Debuting at #2 these days only by buzz with these numbers is a huge success and it shows that sometimes, class puts across! I'm proud of Kendrick and this is well deserved. I'm sure though that Aftermath helped him a lot in the last few weeks prior to the release with all the TV guest appearences they provided. I think this time, Aftermath did most of the things right, first by granting Kendrick full creative control over his album, but also the way they promoted the album. Nice!

I bought the regular version by the way, cause I think this is the only essential version rounded up as a short film. I don't like buying a bonus cd which is individually made for a certain store or whatever. but if you ask me, they should have made the deluxe version equally for everyone and put cd 2 like this:

01 The Recipe ft. Dr. Dre
02 Black Boy Fly
03 Now Or Never
04 Collect Calls
05 County Building Blues
06 Cartoons & Cereal
07 The Recipe (Black Hippy Remix)
08 Swimming Pools (Black Hippy Remix)

When you think of all the white boys into Kendrick's music it makes sense he moves big numbers.

Yeah this is great news for West Coast rap fans.   Aftermath and Dre being back on top of hip-hop is what the game needs.  That's right where it should be.  There are so many followers in the industry so when somebody wack like Lil Wayne rises to the top then the whole game gets fucked.

Yup.  I know I talk about it a lot but I hate when industry heads, especially ones from the West Coast who are supposedly from the streets, co-signing a ketchup motherfucker like Lil Wayne.  And it's not because they're buying into it, but a lot of them just want more exposure and don't mind getting it from someone waving the same flag.  Think about it -- Mack 10, Game, Jay Rock and Menace were all trying to get on tracks with him.

Kendrick will hopefully bring more attention to the West Coast without any of the silliness or the drama and maybe make trends of his own, with other genuine West Coast acts trying to get with him on a musical level without having to smile and play along with other people from other places trying to jock West Coast culture and re-sell our own shit to us.

Yeah, he's been steadily touring, and dropping music for his fanbase, building that ish brick by brick. This is a great look for K Dot 8)

I think it's the other way around, especially for Mack 10. when they signed Mack 10 to Cash Money he was more established than Weezy even though his career was seriously ebbing. but i feel your for the rest of the post.
