So the album features Jelly Roll (and I’m not talking the producer)?  Damn.  I mean, I appreciate Jell Roll’s come-up and all, but don’t need to hear him in a Snoop album.   Wtf

I agree with you but 'On the Blvd' from The Wash soundtrack was solid

I was the same until recently. I think his appearance on the Eminem album was the forst I realised it was someone else. i only learned this week that Octobver London is a male. Was convinced it was a female for some reason. Can't know everything!

Jelly Roll and Sting? Snoop & Dre made a pop album.

Dre takes Snoop to another level with the album, if you think back if it's 50 cents, Eminem is they had all pop features on the album to get into the charts and have success, 2pac was already mainstream back then in contrast to others

Not too sure what goes through a HipHop artists mind when they decide to put artists like Sting on their albums. Like I’m in my 40s but the only Sting songs I vaguely know are the I’ll be missing you (cos of Diddy) and the Nas beat for The message and I think he had a song called Roxanne. It’s like if someone of my age doesn’t care about Sting as weren’t into Soft Rock in thr 80s why would the younger generation want him on the album. Sting might have sold millions of records in the 80s when physical sales meant something but back then late 80s early 90s we were listening to LL Cool J, Run DMC, beastie boys etc not some soft rock pop. It’s like what are Dre and Snoop thinking when they decide to collab with them? It feels like they just bump into each other in a party and be like “ That’s Sting! let’s collaborate cos he sold millions of records in the 80s and his 80s fanbase will buy my new album!”
The Jelly Roll I can understand somewhat as that’s the newer generation, I’m not a fan but with someone of Snoops caliber he should have been able to pull pop artists like Ed Sheeran, Adele, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber if that’s the direction he wanted to take.
This sounds like some Jimmy Iovine rubbish really forcing these collabs a quick search on Wikipedia show Sting is on Interscope. I really dislike this Jimmy Iovine guy. In my mind it’s like this guy has done nothing but ride the talent of Death Row Dre and Eminem to make his millions just by being some middle guy who happened to start a rock label than just lucked out getting 2Pac and Death Row.

I share your concerns Topdogg188.
I'm not sure what sort of sound Dre is going for with these features. My hope of this album being a banger/classic has definitely diminished. I hope I can be proved wrong!
Having said that, If Dre can pull off the same vibe as 2Pac's 'Until the end of time' - the remixed/album version with Richard Page/Mr Mister, then i'll be down with it

It’s about what you create with different artists , doesn’t matter what era they are from.

Doggy Dogg world was a classic, with The Dramatics, a group formed in the 60’s and they made a great song with very young rappers Snoop & Tha Dogg Pound.

I don’t care about who is on the chorus if it sounds good.

My #1 source of skepticism is has Dre found a sound. G Funk era, Storch era, Elizondo/D Parker era - now what?

Dem Jointz era?

The Marsha album has me concerned tbh - Thought with a few of the songs from music to be murdered by we had some hope that he cracked the code and found a formula

Yeah I normally don’t judge features but damn.

But this is snoop 2024 not 1992 I guess

People waiting for '92 Snoop need to move on.

I’m hoping for a Snoop, Eminem and 50cent track produced by Dre, Snoop was featured on em’s greatest hits album and 50 recently said he’s dream collaboration would be a song with snoop and em.
