 A new promising street album will be dropping on the West Coast next week: Noni Spitz, an artist dubcnn readers should be familiar with by now, is introducing an artist he has been working with closely for quite some now, Geo Brown. Under the umbrella of Noni's Hood Tight label, Noni and Geo will be dropping "Heart Of The City" for free download.
You have heard them on the Tupac Assassination soundtrack that was released last year, as well as on many of the New West artists' mixtapes. Now it's time for them to showcase their talent on "Heart Of The City".
Production on the project is provided by Dae One, Dame Taylor, THX, Clinton Place, Jared Jedi Moore as well as Noni Spitz himself, to name a few. The street album/mixtape is being released with DJ Raze One.

 You all got to know Tekneek aka Tek as one third of the group Tangled Thoughts, which Kurupt introduced to the world on their debut album "Philly 2 Cali" in 2007. Tek was also heavily involved in Young De's solo project "Audio Hustlaz", providing De with both his production and lyrical skills.
Now it seems as if things within the group have changed and to explain the situation, Tek put together a new mixtape called "Untangled". On there, he talks about his relationship with De and Cas as well as his affiliation with the Dogg Pound.

He hooked up with producer Maestro Minded (Large Money Ent) from Sweden, who you've heard behind the boards with artists such as Kurupt, 40 Glocc and Brotha Lynch Hung amongst others, to put together "There Will Be Blood". Straight murder raps, this ain't for the light hearted!

The Barstow rapper took offense to some comments that Hot Dollar made in his recent "I Am Detox" diss track aimed at The Game amongst others, where he states "If I didn't mention your name you made it hard to find it".
He's recorded a new track titled "Tax Write Off", on which he taks shots at Hot Dollar and adresses his issues with the Compton rapper. Of course, dubcnn has the track available for you to check out:

 As you know, Crooked I is releasing a new all original mixtape very soon, titled "Block Obama". He has been leaking select tracks from the mixtape throughout the past few weeks and the full project should be out any day. The mixtape is free and untagged, but Crooked encourages people to do whatever they want to do with it, sell it, give it away or just tell a friend about it.
Almost the whole tape has leaked by now and we decided to give you a quick rundown of the tracks out so far. Features include G. Malone, One-2 and the Horse Shoe Gang.

Next is a track on which Crooked I invites his brothers (as in actual blood brothers), the Horse Shoe Gang, to come rock Bishop Lamont's "Feel On It" instrumental:

The album boasts high profile appearances by Raekwon, Immortal Technique, Tech N9ne, B-Real, Necro and La Coka Nostra amongst others, with production being provided by the likes of DJ Muggs, DJ Premier, DJ Lethal, Necro and Ill Bill himself.

 The entire Dubcnn staff would like to send our deepest condolences to Dr. Dre and his family in regard to the untimely passing of his 20-year-old son, Andre Young Jr., this past weekend. While details are still pending, Young Jr. was reportedly found dead in his Woodland Hills, CA home this past Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Andre Young Jr. was said to be out with friends Friday night and his mother later found him "unresponsive in bed" when she tried to wake him early Saturday morning. She immediately called paramedics, who later pronounced Young dead at the scene.
"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time," said a statement released by his spokeswoman.
An autopsy was conducted and the cause of death is still pending toxicology and other tests, which may take six weeks or more.
We're praying for Dre and his family during this tragic time, and we encourage the entire West Coast to do the same.Discuss This Topic

 Mic Moses is an up and coming artist by way of Southern California and a name you may well have spotted on Dubcnn over the past 12 months - albeit not within his own feature.

 Evidence's solo epic "The Weatherman" LP was featured in our end of year round up Best Of 2007 as one of the most overlooked Hip-Hop albums of 2007.
Since then Evidence has been working on new material and today we have two new tracks for download as well as news of a new album and mixtape. First up is a track of the long awaited DJ Babu album "Duck Season 3" which, if you have heard the first two, you will know you are in for something special.

The album is due in Spring 2009 via Taylor Made Records.

 Jayceon Terrell Taylor is at the top of his game with his latest album release, LAX. The Game is Compton’s Most Wanted emcee, but he sometimes comes under heavy criticism from people who think he ‘needs to Chill’ from dropping names every Eiht bars. However, as Cold 187um recently explained to me, “I respect that Game is always paying homage to the forefathers of rap – and more rappers should do it. The Game respects where he came from…”

 Singer Shiré is all too familiar with the feeling of her dreams slipping through the fateful hands of someone else’s fingers, after suffering a broken record deal when she was only a teenager. Shiré (pronounced “sha-ray”) was once a part of the first female group ever to be signed to Def Soul/Def Jam Records and made her debut on Dru-Hill’s second album on a duet with R&B singer, Sisqo. Both her group LovHer and Sisqo, the group’s founder, were later dropped from the label due to internal problems within. Shiré went on to feature on several platinum rap artist albums, such as DMX, Cam’ron and Method Man as well as a landing a single on the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack.

 In the months leading up to his incarceration, Prodigy of Mobb Deep recorded a prolific body of work. A large portion of his efforts will be found on his upcoming album "Product of the 80's" which features Big Twins and Un Pacino, who both share heavy mic time with P.
The album pays homage to the era Prodigy and his Queens cohorts grew up in. Crack-Cocaine, Reaganomics, the Cold War, the Iran-Contra scandal, a U.S. Recession, and the explosion of Hip-Hop all play large roles in the albums content.
As time wound down for the start of Prodigy's prison time, he found sanctuary in his recording sessions at Dirt Class Studios in Brooklyn. Often P arrived alone and left alone. There was no entourage, there were no groupies. These sessions became his momentary escape for writing and recording.
Production on "Product of the 80's" is handled by Jake One, Sid Roams (Joey Chavez and Bravo) and Sebb.
"Product of the 80's" street single is entitled "Stop Stressin" and can be download below within the full album tracklist. The Jake One featured single "Shed Thy Blood" will be released in September.

 Tekneek aka Tek Nizzle has been a dubcnn regular for the past year, ever since the critically acclaimed Tangled Thoughts album "Philly 2 Cali" was released and Kurupt introduced the trio from Philly to the world.
Tek has been on his grind producing for a variety of artists from the East to the West and just sent over some new material that he's been working on while he's back out in Philadelphia. One of the artists he's been producing goes by the name of N.U.G..
We got a new joint by N.U.G. called "All I Know", which features Kurupt and Tekneek himself. The track was produced by Tekneek and Aceman, an up and coming producer from Slovakia. The track is set to appear on N.U.G.'s upcoming mixtape "Neva Underestimate Greatness", which will be dropping through All Day Music/Wyn Wyn Ent very soon.

 As previously reported, the Ambassador of the Bay E-40 is gearing up to release his latest solo album "The Ball Street Journal" on October 28th through Sick Wit It/BME. This will be his first solo since "My Ghetto Report Card" in 2006, which was certified Gold and spawned the hit single "Tell Me When To Go".
We brought you E-40's new single a while back, for which he reached out to Akon to provide the production and the hook. The track is called "Wake It Up" and the video should be hitting stations within the next couple of days.

 As we all know, there's basically two ways to remix a song: Either rappers can jump on a song, or a producer can take an acapella and put a new beat to the song. But it's not too often that we get both. But Shade Shiest and C Infamous have taken time out of their busy schedules to add new fire to Mariah Carey's "Lovin You Long Time". As far as remixes go, we're getting the best of both worlds on this one. C-Infamous created new music for the song, while Shade layed down a couple verses. This isn't the first time Shade has been on a track with Mariah, he was also featured on the Japanese release of Charmbracelet. Check out the song below:

 A few weeks ago we announced West Coast producer legend Battlecat's upcoming first ever mixtape, which will lead up to his solo album. We brought you some audio off the tape but had to pull it again due to some changes being done to the tracks.
The mixtape will feature Battlecat's group Westnile and his brother Myskestro amongst many others, along with production by himself and his protege Amplified, who some of you may know for his funk'd out productions.
We have the final version of the intro to the mixtape available for download exclusively. The intro features Cat's brother Mykestro, as well as Hot Box from the group West Nile. This ain't a regular intro, if you've heard some of DJ Crazy Toones' mixtape, then you might know what to expect from Battlecat's project. A real mixtape, not no thrown together sh-it, this is the real deal.

 Back in January 2008 we caught up with B-Real for an exclusive interview where we discussed his long awaited solo album "Smoke & Mirrors." In that interview he told us how he hoped to have it out in May and described it as "...it's definitely different from Cypress Hill. Different content a little bit, different sounds and all that stuff. With Cypress Hill it's a certain formula, but with my stuff I had to be different, cause if I'm doing the same stuff, then I'm really not doing a different album, it would just be an extension of Cypress, and I don't want it to be an extension of Cypress. I want it to be able to stand on its own, that way when the Cypress shit comes, that stands on its own too."
Since then news on "Smoke & Mirrors" has been scarce however today we have news that B-Real has found a home to release the project on next year. January 27th, 2009 will see the long awaited release of "Smoke & Mirrors" via Duck Down Records
As B-Real indicated exclusively to us in early 2008 the project is set to feature Snoop Dogg, Damian Marley, Buckshot, Sean Price and Sen Dog of Cypress Hill. Production on the release is set to include tracks from DJ Quik, Fredwreck, Scoop Deville and B-Real himself for Audio Hustlerz Inc.
B-Real is the latest addition to Duck Down Records, who just recently announced a group project with KRS-ONE & Buckshot, that will be in stores in 2009, along with upcoming projects from DJ Revolution entitled "King Of The Decks" (September 16th) and a re-united Heltah Skeltah, comprised of Rock and Sean Price, aka Ruck, who, after ten years, are releasing their third album, "D.I.R.T." (Da Incredible Rap Team) on September 30th.
Dru Ha, co-owner of Duck Down Records told Dubcnn; "Adding another living legend in B-Real to our roster is really giving Duck Down a "dream team" line up for independent Hip Hop. Buckshot and I have been strategic with our label partnerships mixing the right blend of emerging artists with proven veterans. When you add the upcoming Random Axe Project (Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and Black Milk collaboration set for a 2009 release) we're excited about our ability to continue contributing quality Hip Hop albums to the game."

 It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Houston’s Slim Thug. After the success of Already Platinum, collabs with the likes of Beyonce, and a label change, Slim Thug is back.
He is currently readying his sophomore album “Boss of All Bosses”, which features his first single, “B*tch I’m Back” (Produced by Dr. Dre). The track features Devin The Dude on the hook, and Slim Thug getting a little more personal than we’re used to.
“I dropped Already platinum but it only sold gold, and n*ggas lookin at me like I sold my soul. Cuz I’m rappin with P and not Mr. Lee, but when you’re on your grind sometimes you can’t see.”
The album is said to also feature production from Mr. Lee, DJ Toomp, Polow Da Don and Kanye West. We have the first single for download below.

 Nappy Roots have just entered the Billboard Rap Charts at No. 7 and the Hip-Hop and R&B Charts at No. 13! Dubcnn's Chad Kiser kicked it with Nappy Roots at their album release party and snapped some exclusive pictures from the event; be on the lookout for his review of The Humdinger album next week.
When the Nappy Roots touched down in L.A. for the BET awards in June, they hit up some local studios and came out with some of that timeless Cali funk. The staff here at Dubcnn helped arrange those Cali sessions, and we'll be sharing the music with you - straight from the studio - exclusively on Dubcnn!

 The video for The Game's latest single off "LAX" has just been released. The Cool & Dre produced song and the visual complement each other very well to create this story called "My Life".

The album made its way onto the internet earlier this week and it has been receiving mostly positive feedback since. After a couple of spins it's easy to hear that Game took a different approach for "LAX". As we reported last month [see: Tracklist For The Game's "LAX"], the features alone showed that he went for a more universal sound this time around. After all, this could be his most complete album and his best work yet.

 His first single with Akon, "Certified", established his name in the industry, and his latest joint, "Haters", with Lil Wayne and Birdman, is set to take him to the next level. The man I'm talking about is Watts rapper Glasses Malone, who has been one of the most featured artists on dubcnn throughout the last years.
We've received word that before dropping his Hoo Bangin/Cash Money solo album "Beach Cruiser", he has decided to put out a digital album in October for the fans.
The album is titled "Monster's InK" and will be available on iTunes and all digital outlets on October 7th 2008. Features on the album include G. Malone's Blu Division family Quiz, Conflict, Bloc Boyz, Roc Slanga and Lude, along with Yung Bruh, Bigg Steele, Butch Cassidy, Kokane and more.
