Del/Haiku D’Etat/Zion I

First off, I’d like to apologize for this update taking so long. I’ve been have a few problems over here, so I haven’t had much of a chance to update on the site. But, better late than never.

About 2 weeks ago, I hit up the Cali Comm Tour with Del, Haiku D’Etat, Zion I, Bukue 1 & Tee Double. I went to the show at the Glass House in Pomona. Nice spot for a show, they just need to change that Alcohol policy. Anyway, Bukue 1 & Tee Double were first up. First time I had ever heard of them, but they were tight. Busted some real dope freestyles and did some of their own songs. Since this was my first time seeing them, I’m not sure names of their songs, but I liked what I heard. Tee Double has his “Lone Star LP” out now. If you can find that, scoop it.

Next up was Zion I with Deuce Eclipse. They went through a lot of album cuts and including “Cheeba Cheeba.” AmpLive was killin’ it on the drum machine. Zion and Deuce had a grip of energy, they had everyone bouncing. Both Zion I and Deuce Eclipse got mixtapes out right now. If you get a chance, peep those out.

A bunch Project Blowed cats came out to open for Haiku. Non-Stop and Reggae artist Jah Orah, among others. They did a nice job of getting the crowd ready. Once Aceyalone, Myka 9 and Abstract Rude hit the stage, the crowd really got into it. They did tracks off the first album, as well as cuts off the new album, namely “Mike, Aaron And Eddie.” On top of that, Myka was ripping acapellas like he always does. Their set ended with a huge posse cut. Busdriver and a whole bunch of Blowed cats came on stage and ripped it. Their set was real hot. Pick up Coup D’Theatre.

Del closed the show. He did cuts off of most his albums, including “I Wish My Brother George Was Here” and “Both Sides Of The Brain.” He brought out Opio. Op was promoting his new album “Triangulation Station.” They did cuts off of some of the Hiero albums. Overall, I was diggin’ Del’s set. Never seen him live before. He has some good crowd control. If this tour hits your city, peep it. Very much worth your money.

Thanks to Non-Stop, Badru and Ben for the hook up into the show.
