I’m sure most of you have had the experience of listening to an artist you’re unfamiliar with, and he/she surprised the hell out of you. That’s the reaction most people have had when they listened to Bay Area artist Shame‘s album “California“, which was recently released to the internet for free download.

19 tracks of real talk, all but one produced by Shame himself, and all of that for free. You can’t really ask for more. Those of you expecting a brainless Hyphy’d out album, be assured, Although the influence of the Bay Area’s current sound is unmistakably noticable in Shame’s music, his deep lyrics and sharp delivery create a fresh, unique sound.

For those of you who want to preview the music before download the whole album, I’ve uploaded two tracks from the album, which you can download below. The first one is the title track, a straight California anthem, which features XL Middleton. The second one, “What’s Gangsta“, is a song where Shame touches on violence in neighborhoods, and criticizes the glorified ‘gangsta’ image in today’s Hip-Hop music.
