Today, Los Angeles based emo rap artist Jack Bruno partners with Florida rapper Smokepurpp for a hypnotically bouncy new track called “DVL on my SHLDR.” With direction by Hana Zebzabi and Nicholas Siegel, the gothed-out rapper is entranced in a vibrant art space and a smoldering recording studio where Bruno and Smokepurpp divulge in how temptations become hard to resist with the devil on their shoulders. The new song will be featured on Jack Bruno’s forthcoming Manifesting A Pop Star Part 1 album featuring production by Hit-Boy, DJ Camper and Don Cannon available June 15thon all DSPs.
“‘DVL on my SHLDR’ came together really fast,” recalls Jack Bruno. “Being an artist on tour you have lots of temptations thrown at you all the time and you have to stay focused otherwise that shit will take you down. I thought the track had a Smokepurpp vibe to it and I’d seen him every now and again but we never really hung out. So when I was in NYC, I hit my buddy Reggie Mills and he was in the studio with Purpp. I just rolled thru and it happened super organically.”
“DVL on my SHLDR” follows last week’s lead music video “Misfit” featuring Chicago rapper Famous Dex that included a cameo in the video from Rich The Kid. “Misfit” has already gained over YouTube 100K views. HYPEBEAST premiered his breakout single “2 Goth Kids” produced by Dylan Brady and praised Bruno’s “memorable lyrics and melodies.”
