Today, Los Angeles based rapper Jack Bruno and Florida rapper Smokepurpp partner with Highsnobiety to premiere the mind-altering “DVL on my SHLDR.” The hypnotically bouncy Suits produced track has become a fast fan favorite with over 1 Million streams so far. With Louie Knows’ direction, the collaborative music video starring Bruno and Purpp explores how enticing temptations can quickly leave you dumbfounded in an obscure daze.

“‘DVL on my SHLDR’ came together really fast,” Bruno explains. “Being an artist on tour you have lots of temptations thrown at you all the time and you have to stay focused otherwise that shit will take you down. I thought the track had a Smokepurpp vibe to it and I’d seen him every now and again but we never really hung out. I just rolled thru and it happened super organically.”

“We also shot the video in NYC, it was a cool little party vibe. We kept on coming up with ideas on the spot, like having multiple versions of me performing at the table. Purpp been getting more into directing shit so he was shooting a lot of ideas too, and of course Louie Knows is a rockstar director so it was just an easy cool video to do”

His brand new “DVL on my SHLDR” music video follows Bruno’s Hit-Boy produced song “Ciggy Said Light” featuring Playboi Carti that Complex raved was “a mosher” and Billboard declared a “banger.”

ABOUT:
Like many intriguing stories, it started with a pen and a pad of paper. Jack Bruno picked up that pen in June 2016. However, he didn’t scrawl lyrics first. Rather, he wrote, “I want to work with a top-level rap producer,” on the first line of the page. Within a year, he found himself in Grammy Winning producer Hit-Boy’s home studio, on tracks alongside rap superstars Playboi Carti, Famous Dex and Smokepurpp, and touted by tastemakers such as HYPEBEAST, HOTNEWHIPHOP, HIPHOPDX and more. Cooking up a punked-up and gothed-out hip-hop style of his own, the singer, rapper, multi-instrumentalist, and producer emerged as vibrant and visceral force.

Bruno most definitely put in the work to get here. He spent countless hours cooking up beats and adding guitar and piano to the sonic palette. Simultaneously, he honed his mic skills inspired by influences ranging from Kanye West and Drake to Skepta and JME. Flipping the script, he strained the rock spirit from his formative years into this forward-facing audio barrage.

He teamed with Famous Dex for his breakout first single “2 Goth Kids,” which quickly generated 450K Spotify streams also landing on the Spotify Clout Culture Playlist and Vevo’s “Incoming Hip-Hop” Playlist. This summer, Jack was direct support on Billboard Hot 100 rappers Juice WRLD’s WRLD Domination Tour in the US as well as Tekashi 6ix9ine’s World Domination Tour playing to sold-out shows across Europe and opened for Lil Xan at his sold-out London show. His new Hit-Boy produced song “Ciggy Said Light” featuring Playboi Carti was praised by COMPLEX and BILLBOARD. In addition to Hit-Boy, he’s been in studio with hip-hop’s top producers DJ Camper [Drake, Big Sean] and Don Cannon [Lil Uzi Vert, 50 Cent].
