At this point in time, this Carson California wordsmith doesn’t necessarily need a formal introduction. Let’s just do a quick career retrospective. Dubcnn was one of the first places that introduced you to Bishop Lamont online, before the chance meeting with Dr. Dre on the set of The Game’s “Dreams” video and him being scooped up to Aftermath.

While sitting on the shelf over at the “House that Dre built,” Bishop Lamon made the very best of his impatience, and later frustration, by ultimately checking in, via varied cameo appearances on others’ high profile projects, whenever the opportunity presented itself, as well as continually flooding the streets with his popular mix-tape entries – all of which have appeared on Dubcnn down the years [check the archives].

After more than five years without his solo album release, Bishop opted to part ways with Aftermath camp, following in the footsteps of many signees; most notably Joell Ortiz, Rakim, Hittman and Last Emperor, before him.

Dubcnn recently tracked down the elusive Philip “Bishop Lamont” Martin, and this brief interview is what transpired.
