Rashondra Angelle attended Polytechnic High School which is infamous for quickly becoming a west coast musical landmark — also attended by Snoop Dogg, Warren G and other successful artists.
Citing Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill and others as influence, Rashondra Angelle is a versatile Femcee who blends different genres of music together to define her style. Her current single and video ﾓRiseﾔ is out now and is the perfect example to showcase Rashondraﾒs talent and passion.
The song was produced by west coast hit maker Dae One (Snoop Dogg’s ﾓSo Gangstaﾔ, Ice Cube’s ﾓLife In California”, Bishop Lamont, Glasses Malone, etc) who took time of out his schedule to exclusively speak to Dubcnn about creating ﾓRiseﾔ and working with Rashondra Angelle.

ﾓRise is a record I did with a phenomenal female artist named Rashondra Angelle. Sheﾒs a very talented artist. I think the title of the record kind of speaks for itself. Itﾒs a very inspirational record. When I first did the track and she stopped by the studio to hear it, we were going through beats and I played Rise for about a minute. We actually sat on the record for a while. I gave her the beat and she took it home. She came back with the concept and she already had the visual idea for where she wanted to take the record.”
“When she came back with the song idea formatted, we got in the studio and vibed out to the record a bit longer. We put a few extra vocals in there. I called up my friend DJ Buddy from the I.E. and he came through to the studio and put some scratches on there to kind of give it the hip-hop feel but itﾒs still kind of soulful and R&B at the same time, because Rashondra has that kind of crossover appeal from neo-soul to hip-hop. Rise is a fusion of all of that wrapped into one.ﾔ
