Chris Focus – When The Love Is Gone

It is always a privilege to cover an artist who you have a strong familiarity with. Having spent some years attending the same high school from ’01-03, I came to know the person and artist now regarded by the rest of the world as Chris Focus. It is motivating and inspiring to say the least, that after so many years, the Leimert Park lyricist is still at it, with a polished flow and resonating presence on records flashing resemblance to Brooklyn’s own, Fabolous. The project’s well received debut single “Porsche In The Driveway” featuring R. Norman is stamped as the catalyst for a creatively concrete presentation spear headed by a rock solid MC. Showing us that patience truly pays, if cashed in correctly, the carefully crafted album is entirely produced by Thadxeus White, giving birth to a talented tandem set to stretch their take over through the summer & into the fall. Master minding every move, When The Love Is Gone is a product of calculated risk and timing, allowing Chris to focus his lens for fans & new listeners to picture his world.
