Trev Rich – Circles

0

Now the first time I heard Denver’s (CO) tremendous & towering talent Trev Rich, he was being featured on Joe Budden’s Loose Quarter tape’s interlude joint “Dreams” and I was a mile high like his beloved Broncos off an ignited stick of indica. Given an entire slot to showcase his above average abilities by the reputable Slaughterhouse rhymer, the introductory interlude presented a problem, a problem for rappers claiming they rap, and artists whose subject matter lacked in originality, substance and style. Naturally, I educated myself on the insightful and engaging emcee, and ran through his highly praised Heights series and his most recent body of work, Rain In The Summer, only to rest reassured that Denver’s seemingly undiscovered jewel is set to shine in due time. His latest musical offering “Circles” continues in highlighting his self aware outlook and approach, as he finds himself going round & round in circles in need of a prayer or two; shedding light into the day & life of an artist who truly embraces both the good and bad, the positives and negatives and all the ups & downs, Trev’s music resonates and remains relatable no matter the choice of content.
