“The DopeHouse is proud to debut the latest video
from another West Coast riser…
McKinley has teamed with Young Dolph andZoey Dollaz
on the floss-centric single “100 Bands,”
and now the DJ FU – (of Mike WiLL Made It’s EarDrummers camp)
Today, Watts rapper McKinley Ave partners with 2Dopeboyz to debut his brand new music video for “100 Bands” featuring Southern trappers Young Dolph and Zoey Dollaz. Directed by Cristian “Concrete” Gutierrez, the hard-hitting emcees along with sexy eye-candy use the visual to motivate others to keep hustling for 100 Bands. The DJ FU (Eardrummers) produced lead single will appear on McKinley Ave’s forthcoming album Did Dirt To Lay Pavement with additional features from Migos, Eric Bellinger, Joe Moses, Jay-305, Just Brittany and more.
Last week, HotNewHipHop premiered the audio for “100 Bands,” praising the “Enthusiastic portamento 808s and an eerie, ascending bell line together form the centerpiece of DJ FU’s production.”
McKinley explains, “This is probably one of my favorite records on my project. I’m from the Watts, California & rap about our way of life and what we had to do to get it. But at the end of the day, I want people to press play on my music and feel motivated. Whether you’re trapped in the streets or in the boardroom, I feel like we have all thought to ourselves… Damn, I gotta make 100 Bands.”
While McKinley’s debut project Did Dirt To Lay Pavementis set for release later this year, fans can enjoy previously released #DDTLP songs: the G-funk inspired No Regular featuring RJ and production by DJ FU and Mike Free as well as his raw S. Class produced Roosters. McKinley Ave and S. Class’ production duo has worked on projects for Eric Bellinger, Cam’ron, Beanie Sigel, WC, Eve, Kirk Franklin among others.
