Deniro Farrar Revisits Police Brutality in “Classic Mouth”

North Carolina rapper Deniro Farrar revisits #FreeTuneTuesdays with another short film directed by James Rico, “Classic Mouth”. The video eerily foreshadowed the death of friend and fellow North Carolina-rapper Daquan Antonio Westbrook aka Lil Donky who was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.

“I made this video a few weeks before he was killed,” Farrar explains to VIBE. “I sent it to him and he told me how real it was. Little did he or myself know that this video would be telling his story. But he’s not the only one. It’s been so many police officers wrongfully killing our people for centuries. My brother and videographer James Rico wrote the treatment with that in mind. We just wanted to shed light on what’s taking place in our community.” He adds, “It’s not a black or white thing, just a wrong or right thing.”

#FreeTuneTuesdays is dedicated to Deniro’s brother Antonio “Tune” Farrar who was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to at least 18-years. After rejecting his claim of self-defense three years ago, Farrar is using his creative platform to highlight the issues plaguing the country’s judicial and mass incarceration systems.

The Cult Rap leader plans to address this and other social issues in his upcoming Red Book.
