 Parlay Starr is LA's latest rising star, repping South Central Pueblo Projects, he's without a doubt one of the brightest new faces and talents from the westcoast. He recently dropped his debut album entitled "Welkome To My World"; on MostHated Mob ent.
The album will feature; Chris Brown, The Outlawz, The Realest, Nuttso, 3-6 Mafia, Roscoe and many more.

 It's looking like a big year for Crooked I and his fans who have stuck out the decade long wait for his debut album Million Dollar Story which looks set to drop this year. Already the single Villain (Featuring Sally Anthony) is picking up spins and his group Slaughterhouse just signed to Shady Records.
A video has been floating around the web the last couple days showing C.O.B previewing a song off the upcoming album. It was filmed at the Treacherous Records studio and the song sounds like it would be a banger in cd quality.

 With February here tomorrow it can only mean one thing, the announcment of the 2011 Paid Dues Festival line up brought to you by Murs 3:16 in association with Guerilla Union. Today Guerilla Union leaked the flyer for the acclaimed Independent Hip-Hop Festival held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA.
Bun B, E-40, Sage Francis, Andre Nickatina, P.O.S., Nipsey Hu$$le, Lil B the Based God, Dead Prez, Visionaries and more will be joining previously announced headliners Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s Black Star reunion performance, Immortal Technique, Murs and Slaughterhouse.
The 2011 Paid Dues Festival roster is its most ambitious and eclectic to date. Anticipated performance highlights of this year’s festival include headliner E-40. Murs shares his excitement, "It is with great pride that I announce E-40 will be headlining the ‘Dues Paid’ stage. As far as independent rap goes, he was the first to get his label major distribution. From Master P to El-P, he pioneered the artist/CEO business model in hip hop."
The Black Hippy collective comprised of Top Dawg Entertainment label mates Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock will also be performing on the west-coast themed ‘Dues Paid’ stage.
Paid Dues is an all all-day, all ages hip hop music and lifestyle event. In its 6th year, the premier independent hip hop festival will expand in 2011 to three stages and over 40 live performances. This year, fans will be treated to an array of all-star performances with themed stages including the ‘Dues Paid’ stage which features all west-coast artists and the ‘Grind Time Now’ stage that will integrate emcee battle elements for the first time. Murs credits the flourishing state of the indie music scene and technology for the need to expand the festival, "Why three stages? Because the independent hip hop scene has grown tremendously in volume and talent over the past 5 years. Partially due to the major record label system being turned on its ear, and even more so the way technology has empowered independent music as a whole."

 What a week for Game since the release of his two-disc mixtape Purp & Patron on the 24th he has had the internet and streets going crazy. Since that update he has followed up with the in-studio performance of I'm the King and the hugely anticpated White Soft Porn track with Mars, Asher Roth & Tyga produced by 1500 or Nuthin' and then he dropped Game - Purp & Patron in its untagged format!
In that same update we told you that he was readying a 10 track release called "P&P: Hangover" featuring tracks that were left of the original DJ Skee and Funkmaster Flex hosted tape.
We can now tell you that "P&P: Hangover" will drop TODAY at 4:20pm PST TODAY and is now 15 tracks deep, one of which is "Trend Setter" produced by Point Guard and Mars of 1500 Or Nuthin' that can be checked below!

 Infinit Angles is the result of a collaboration effort between two underground LA hip-hop crews uniting together to bring fourth what they class as a "Level of hip-hop that has been missing for far too long."
The two crews are Infinit P'Tenchul consisting of the trio Yelloblac, Trace and Preed one together with the All Angles duo of Erbin and Biologik - both groups that hail from and represent the 818 San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.
The unification has led the the release of an album called "The Roscoe Sessions" that features production from group members Erbin and Preed One, aswell as outside producers J. Bizness (producer of the Ras Kass track 'The Scenario 2012'), Kid Nice, Dahliam and more.
The album will be available for free download on Dubcnn soon (with hardcopies also available for free during February requestable via email) but until then we have the Kid Nice produced lead single off the album called "Same Ol'" for download and stream!

 With the digital world taking over the music industry, more and more artists are releasing digital albums. West Sidin Entertainment has been working on a digital series for a moment and the first release is set to debut online in late February. That release is from the West Coast’s favorite Ruff Ryder, Kartoon. Over recent years we've dropped countless updates with news and media right back to 2007 with his The 1st Driveby Online Listening Party, tracks from his follow up CD such as Turn This Out, Street Life with Turf Talk, Butch Cassidy & Spider Loc, Noe Reason, Talk Of The Town with Spider Loc and the Problem featured Platinum.
He also featured on the Jadakiss cut West Coast Kiss alongside Kokane and on the J Steez Return Of Tha West project with the solo track Money On My Mind before all but vanishing for over a year.
The Rialto native is about to return from the hiatus with the release of his "West Sidin Drive-By" album. It’s ten tracks deep and features an array of styles from this lyricist.
The album includes features from Jelly Roll, Kokane, Spider Loc and Kartoon’s own group Thug Angels. Production on the LP is handled by Jelly Roll, J. Cardim, DK LA, J Classic, PK Killer Trackz, Deputy and more.

 Hip-Hop’s best kept secret Nu Magik have officially signed with emerging indie powerhouse HiPNOTT Records to release their forthcoming album "V2" for release later this year. The project itself is described, as a labor of love, as the duo consisting of emcee Draz and producer Deuce Maxwell rarely record in the same time zone, with Draz residing in Chicago and Deuce Maxwell in Southern California.
Their first combined effort was the last years album "The Vintage" which Draztic discussed in his interview on Dubcnn in November 2010 and from which we dropped the single Summer Magik and its video.
Having previously been available only on iTunes, the guys have decided to celebrate the deal by allowing Dubcnn to release the album again for free download - which we have for you below.

When Draz was asked about the deal and the upcoming album he told Dubcnn; "We are excited to be apart of the HiPNOTT family and look forward to some amazing and groundbreaking music and further expansion with the group as well as with the label".

The Forum was born on the back of the old Dre2001.com forum which was the official Dr. Dre website during the 2001 album era as well as the community who frequented the pioneering DreDay.com and NWA2K pages. Over the years that followed many fan-sites functioned under the then named West Coast Affiliates Forum umbrella - over the years that followed the forum undertook the new and current name of the West Coast Connection Forum and in 2002 Dubcnn was formed as the official news source behind the forum.
Many sites that used to be part of the original group have closed - or as in the case of Westcoast2K merged under Dubcnn - however the forum stands strong with over 20,000 members and a huge archive of discussions from one of the most varied decades in the history of Hip-Hop.

The Bay Area's yellow bus driver Mistah Fab celebrated his 3rd Annual Birthday Bash out in Oakland last Wednesday, January 19th. The drinks were strong and the crowd ready to get down. Chameleon Productionz threw the hyphy birthday party featuring mini performances and appearances by Curren$y, Too $hort, Kafani, The Jacka, J Stalin, R.O.D., London, Stevie Joe and several other local favorites.

 It's been more than a minute since we've dropped new music from Latino MC Young Brown on Dubcnn.
Having dropped his debut album "Out Tha Gate" in 2006 the South Gate MC quickly gathered pace as being one of the hottest latino rappers on the West Coast. Over recent years solo music has been limited however today we have news that Young Brown is getting ready to release a new mixtape entitled "Damage Control" hosted by DJ Warrior and J Steez.
He has been locked in the studio over the past year recording one hard hitting track after another for the project and has linked up with artists including Suga Free, Kartoon, Glasses Malone, 40 Glocc, WestSide Bugg, Bad Azz, The Jacka, Ese Daz and more for the mixtape. Production is handled by acclaimed producer J Steez.
From the new release we've received two tracks for download, first up is the J Steez produced "Young, Gifted & Brown" which features a flipped Joe Bataan sample.

 Back in June 2008 we dropped an update to state then that the Infamous/G-Unit's 40 Glocc and fellow G-Unit signee Spider Loc had teamed up to release a mixtape called "The Graveyard Shift" - the cover as it was back then is re-posted with this update.
At the time there was no release date but later that year we did bring you a track that took aim at, as the title 3 people. Lil Wayne, The Game and Young Buck took the brunt of the attacks on the Blaqtoven produced 3 Amigos.
Since then 40 has stayed busy, including changing his name to Big Bad 40, dropping countless audio and video releases including the recent One Day At A Time video and single Damn with Ray J. We also conducted an exclusive interview in July 2010 when he discussed the name change to Big Bad 40.
We have just received a press release which states that Big Bad 4-0 has officially announced the long overdue street album "Graveyard Shift" with Spider Loc is to be released on March 22nd. The duo have teamed up with DJ Drama to bring hardcore hip hop fans what they fiend for; gritty uncut, unadulterated music straight from the streets.
The delay, predominantly down to the incarceration of Spider Loc, is now over and has given them time to line up features including Tony Yayo, Gail Gotti, Jay-O Felony, Kurupt, Busta Rhymes, Obie Trice, MC-8, ZOOBABIES and Norega on the album. When asked about what fans can expect to hear the Zoolife Entertainment artist/ceo stated "fans can expect to hear that crisp rhythmic gangsta sound that only comes from the heart of the streets."

Having dropped Sparks on Dubcnn last week the up and coming Hip-Hop group from Riverside CA Sound Fx have wasted no time in getting us the latest sample tracks from their upcoming debut album "Still Dreaming" entitled "Backstabbers."
"The track deals with aspects in life that we all face such as betrayal and jealousy, it's vivid and describes in detail the different types of betrayals we have faced," the duo told Dubcnn

 Today, January 25th, the long-awaited Death Row Records album by one-time Dr. Dre protégé Sam Sneed is finally being released. Sam Sneed became well-known for his catchphrase “My name is Sam Sneed, you better recognize!", which originally appeared in the song “Pump, Pump” off the Snoop Doggy Dogg debut album, Doggystyle.
He also appeared in the movie, Murder Was the Case, which also spawned the “U Better Recognize” single, with Dr. Dre, included in the movie’s soundtrack.
Dubcnn caught up with Sam Sneed for this exclusive interview to discuss his new release, the history on his involvement with songs like “Keep Their Heads Ringin’” and “Natural Born Killaz”, his diagnosis and recovery of the brain tumor that threatened his life, and many other topics.

 Jayo Felony has always been known as one of the most ferocious emcees in hip-hop. Having made a surprise guest appearance on Ice Cube's album "I Am The West" last year Bulletloco is staying busy recording his own solo material.
Last year we dropped tracks including My Madness, Set It Off alongside Young Keno, G.L.O.C.C. & J.A.Y.O. with Big Bad 40 and then earlier this month Funeral Music with Slim The Mobster. Jayo recently helped form what is sure to be a legendary west coast group called 1st Generation consisting of himself Kurupt, MC Eiht, King T & Gangsta.
The group has earned co-signs from Snoop Dogg while working with producers such as Tha Chill, E-A Ski, Sir Jinx and more. While the group is hard at work recording there debut group album, Jayo Felony has decided to unleash a new solo record to hold fans over. "D*ck On Your Forehead" can be listened to and download below and is over a beat from a recent Game mixtape. Jayo Felony had the beat first, but due to a mix-up, it ended up on a recent Game mixtape.

 For some reason, this here didn't make the site last week, so here goes the late but necessary treatment: Boostwell Music's own SP Double teamed up with esteemed producer Focus... to put together a collaborative project called "Lethal Weapon". The outcome is a 12-track album with nothing but some good ole' boom bap. Don't look for radio singles, bubble gum topics, or gimmicky hip-pop on this cd.
Like a lot of times when Focus puts his name on something, it is made available for free download. This is definitely worth the click.

 Bay-Area super group Hieroglyphics are back in a big way, releasing a new song "Reputation" in conjunction with a series of paintings inspired by the group from When Art Imitates Life (W.A.I.L.) - Hiero served as the guiding creative force behind the Hieroglyphics Legacy and Monument Series paintings.
From music to art to clothing collaborations, and more, the legendary Hiero crew has certainly earned quite a "Reputation," and the aptly named song celebrates the Hiero legacy. This no-frills track is all about the flow; synthy guitar riffs and bare bones beats leave the listener free to focus on the killer verses - these seasoned veterans need no embellishment.
"Sorry that we kept you waiting... sort of like a test of patience/had to come up with the best arrangement," A-Plus tells fans, who definitely won't hold the group's absence against them with a new track out and their upcoming West Coast tour to look forward to.

 On February 8th, 2011 the previously unreleased 1995 LBC Crew album, “Haven’t You Heard”, will be formally released from the Death Row Records vaults. WIDEawake Entertainment Group,Inc., the company who acquired the Death Row assets, will distribute the project worldwide, in both physical and digital formats.
The LBC Crew (Long Beach City Crew) were the first act to be executively-produced by Snoop Doggy Dogg. In the mid-90’s, The LBC Crew were signed to Snoop’s Doggystyle Records, a label operated by Snoop and distributed through Death Row Records.
While a part of the original Death Row Records brand, the LBC Crew had a hit-single with the song "Beware Of My Crew", from the “A Thin Line Between Love and Hate” soundtrack, as well as being highlighted on 2Pac’s “Gridlock’d” soundtrack with the song "Out the Moon /Boom, Boom, Boom", which also featured the prominent, late Death Row rapper. They were also showcased heavily on Snoop Doggy Dogg's multi-platinum selling second solo album “Tha Doggfather”.
Since departing Death Row, The LBC Crew have remained visible figures in west coast hip-hop. In 1998, Big C-Style master-minded & released “C-Style Presents: 19th Street LBC Compilation”, which featured a 14-track collection of new and upcoming Long Beach rappers, telling tale of a typical day on 19th Street in Long Beach.
Bad Azz has released 4 solo albums, including 1998’s “Word On Tha Street” (featuring Snoop Dogg, Ant Banks, Outlawz, Kurupt) & 2001’s “Personal Business”, with the single "Wrong Idea" (featuring Snoop Dogg, Kokane, and Lil' ½ Dead) reached #75 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The album also featured Fredwreck, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Battlecat and others.
The ever-busy Bad Azz has also been been featured on projects by Warren G, Rass Kass, Kokane, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Tha Eastsidaz, with arguably his most memorable appearance being on the song “Krazy” with 2Pac for the posthumously-released “Makaveli: Don Killuminati” project.
Techniec has made several appearances on projects with Mack 10, Daz Dillinger, MC Eiht and others.
Lil C-Style remained part of the unorganized Death Row camp for a while, before being most-recently signed to Game's Black Wall Street Records, but subsequently left there to start his own label.
The previously unreleased “Haven’t You Heard” project will feature “Dippin’ In My Low Low”, “Feels Good 2 B DPG”, “Gangsta” and more. The project is set to feature Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Soopafly, as well as production from heralded producers like Soopafly, LT Hutton, Daz, Sam Sneed, and DJ Pooh.

 One half of the Hustle Boyz, Mac Lucci has been releasing a lot of quality music over the last few months including his Snoop Dogg & DJ Age presented mixtape Cortez Muzik.
He has also unleashed several music videos including the most recent Fire Tearz (Feat. Da Rilla & Scavie Scoobs). He has sent us over a new song over 2pac's classic "Ambitionz Of A Rydah" with his 8 year old daughter L Princess providing vocals on the track.

Mac also wanted to introduce his artist Jesus Boi aka Rah Rah. A Gospel rapper out of South Central, Jesus Boi & Mac Lucci grew up together in the L.A. streets together going through ups and downs. After being shot, Rah Rah aka Jesus Boi turned his life to God and wants to spread the message to his community through music.

 As previously Mr. Capone-E is doing big things right now. In 2009 his huge single Light My Fire (Feat. Snoop Dogg) as well as his California anthem Best From The West (Feat. Snoop Dogg & The Game) made a lot of noise internationally which has seen Mr. Capone-E expanding his reach to Europe as well as providing British boxer Amir Khan's Ring Entrance.
 Mr. Capone-E has announced he's linking with Mr. Criminal for an album called Southsider's Most Wanted coming out March 18th. We have been sent a promo video for the album. The song covers the history of Hi Power and how they came together.
