 No One (Dae One & Noni Spitz) Release "Unfaithful" Video - By : Rud - July 31, 2010
 Late last year the long awaited release from No One (Noni Spitz & Dae One) The Pre Substance was made available right here on Dubcnn.
Dae One, the producer extraordinaire, and Noni Spitz teamed up for the 17-track mixtape featuring Taje, Geo Brown, Mitchy Slick and more with production by Black Milk, THX, Willie B & JRK. One of the tracks from the release "Unfaithful" was particularly poignant, as Dae One states; "This is not your ordinary love song but a story that depicts the consequences of infidelity & temptations that come with every love relationship."

 As promised last week the boys from Berkeley, California - Damonte "Lil Uno" Johnson, Brandon "Lil B" McCartney, Lloyd "Young L" Omadhebo and Keith "Stunnaman" Jenkins - are gearing up to release their sophomore LP, "Wolfpack Party" on August 24 and to celebrate are releasing one new track a week from the LP - available right here on Dubcnn.
Last week we brought you two in one, a bonus track on a special version of the album album entitled Kimbo Slice and Hella Bass Remix III.
Today we are back with the third record leak, this one is called "Based Boys" and is another Bonus record from the new album.

 It's quite often a long wait between updates on E-A-Ski, this year its just been two updates about his production on the Locksmith tracks Get It In and Man Up.
Today we have news that the westcoast producer extraordinaire E-A-Ski is diversifying his entertainment portfolio. He was recently honored with the International Prestigious Award at the Kelowna Film Festival. The accolade was for his short movie "No Problem" starring Danny Glover, Locksmith, Eastwood and himself.
The Festival is in it's 13th year and the five day event screened more than 130 films. E-A-Ski and his IMGMI Films staff are looking forward to making more trips to Canada in the near future. You can see him accepting his award in the news update photo as well as in the video clip below.

 I almost cant believe it has been six years since Compton representer Wing first featured on Dubcnn. Since that update the Galaxy West Entertainment has continued to feature on Dubcnn regularly (check the archives) most noteably when he dropped his long awaited mixtape Eat Or Be Eaten for free download.
That was 2008, exactly two years have passed - the last update was July 20th, and today we have word that Wing has decided to go under his real name Brian James.
Under this new moniker he intends to release his long awaited follow up to Eat Or Be Eaten - "Eat Or Be Eaten Volume 2" - the cover for which can be seen in full by clicking the image in this update.
"Eat Or Be Eaten Volume 2" is being brought to you by Galaxy West Entertainment and is hosted by DJ Raze One and Basement Radio. Production on the project comes from Chris Reed aka Blacc, DJ Ophax, Malcolm Harvest and Brian James himself.
Other artists that feature on the release include Quiz of Blu Division, Curtiss King, Ghrimm, Art Barz, Kraftie and Kace Moon. We have been given three tracks from "Eat Or Be Eaten Volume 2" for you to check out and help you get re-acquainted with Brian James fka Wing.

 After Ice Cube recently announced the unfortunate push-back of his highly anticipated solo album "I Am The West" from the original July release date to September 28th, he also promised his fans that he would release one song per month to make the wait for the album easier.
Since the release of the video to "I Rep That West", listeners were eager to hear what else the Don Mega was bringing to the table with his new album, with the bold title "I Am The West", which set the tone for a controversial record before the music even came out.
Today, he released a new song off the album, entitled "Drink The Kool-Aid". This was the song that had stirred up a lot of discussion when Cube performed it at several festival dates a few months back, as he references many artists, including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kanye West and the so-called "New West" (aren't ya'll tired of that term already?!),

 For a while it seemed like kid rappers were kinda disappearing from the scene, but with Young Money's Lil Chuckee and Lil Twist capturing the young crowd again and Will Smith's son Jaden Smith making his rap debut on the side of Justin Bieber for the new Karate Kid movie, it looks like the market for underage rappers is opening up again.
That must have been exactly what Daz Dillinger thought when he got behind young Long Beach artist Pilot and his movement Skinnyz Sag Low (I know, right?). With production by Soopafly and Daz overseeing, Pilot is now working on his album "Catch Me On The East".
We've received first visuals from Pilot aka Savage P, to a song called "4 The Ladies", which was filmed on the Eastside of Long Beach. Check out the video and download the song below, produced by Leel Snac & Daz:

 Loyal dubcnn visitors will immediately recognize the name above, as he's been regularly featured on dubcnn from the jump: West Side Bugg. Whether it was for his solo abum "The Roach Motel" in '07 or his countless collaborations with the likes of 40 Glocc and Kurupt, Bugg kept his name out there.
Next month he's dropping his brand new street album "Bugg's Life" through West Sidin Entertainment. The album features a lot of heavy hitters: Kurupt, Lil Flip, Killer Mike, Eastwood, Ras Kass, The Jacka, Beta Bossalini, Dirty Birdy, Kokane, CJ Mac, Haji Springer & more.
Production was mainly done by Bugg himself but also features tracks from Prodeje of South Central Cartel, Rob Lo, Bambino & Chubbs.

The Pack are back! Incredibly it's been four years since the groups 2006 sneaker anthem, "Vans" that resulted in Too $hort signing them to his Up All Nite Records imprint via Jive Records. "Vans" was a huge hit for The Pack being played nationwide and charting - it was even listed at No.5 on Rolling Stone's "Best songs of 2006".
The success of the single prompted a seven track EP in that same year entitled "Skateboards 2 Scrapers" and soon after their debut album "Based Boys." In 2008 they parted company with Jive Records and will release "Wolfpack Party" on SMC Recordings.
The first track to leak from "Wolfpack Party" on the track-a-week promotion is "Kimbo Slice" which will appear as a bonus track on a special version of the album album

Stockton, California. If you are having a hard time, Psyph Morrison is going to help you.
Born and raised in the Northern California city, Aaron Herrera aka Psyph Morrison had the aspirations of doing big things. He always had a love of hip-hop, but it wasn’t until he listened to Jay-Z’s Vol. 3 Life And Times of S. Carter when he thought he could pick up a microphone.
It wasn’t until he was 18 years old, when Aaron first picked up a pen and a pad and wrote his first 16 bars. He was a freshman at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, when gave himself the monkier Psyph Morrison and recorded his first song. “Ready For Shine” was the first time Psyph was behind a microphone, and it was that point on, he knew he wanted to perfect his craft.
Psyph continued to work on his art form by writing rhymes, and freestylin in the quad at Delta College. He was then contacted to become a ghostwriter for Khelo Thomas of the Disney movie Holes.. Although he continued to work on his craft, it wasn’t until Psyph linked up with James DeBarge where he turned the corner.
Working with DeBarge, Psyph began to realize how to truly put a song together. In 2005, Dee & Teak Underdue, the production team of Hallway Productionz (E-40, Ice Cube, Blackalicious, WC, Bueno, Young Maylay, Lyrics Born, Okwerdz) took notice of the young rapper. They took Psyph under their wings, and they were hard at work in the studio.
As the songs kept coming, Psyph began slowly building buzz in the streets. Fast forward to 2009, while working on his debut album "The Beautiful Imperfection", Psyph felt he had too much material. That spawned the release of the mixtape, "The Making Of a Morrison Vol. 1".
Now with his first official video in the can for “I’m The Shit
(Hat Back)”, Psyph continues to work hard and do bigger things. He released his album on May 25th and appeared on a couple of tour dates with Snoop Dogg in July.

 It's been a busy 2010 already for the man we know as Charlie Hustle, 40 Fonzarelli, The Ballatician, Mr. Flamboyant, 40 Belafonte, E-Feezy, however E-40 - the Ambassador of The Bay Area shows no sign of slowing down.
As we told you earlier in the year 40 Water dropped his thirteenth and fourteenth albums on the same date, March 30, with the release of two separate albums entitled "Revenue Retrievin’ The Day Shift" and "Revenue Retrievin’ The Night Shift."
Artists featured with him across the two "shifts" include Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Too Short and Mistah Fab as well as Bobby V, Jazze Pha, YV and J. Valentine. The 38 brand new tracks see E-40 and his Bay Area conglomerate B-Legit, Messy Marv, Dem Hoodstarz, Ya Boy, The DB’z, Turf Talk, Clyde Carson, Husalah and Droop-E lyrically engineer a top shelf production.
On Dubcnn we dropped back to back visuals from the album, as E-40 opted to put videos online to buzz build rather than actively leaking audio. The Server, The Weed Man featuring Stresmatic and Bitch / Over The Stove alonsgide Too Short were the first to appear on Dubcnn before we brought you the It's Gotta Get Better video with Mike Marshall & Suga-T.
Since the release E-40 has been busy with guest appearances himself including working with Andre Nickatina on Laroo The Hard Hitta's Put Me On (Remix) and most recently with Big Bad 40 aka 40 Glocc on the Welcome To California Remix produced by Darren Vegas with Snoop Dogg, Too Short, Xzibit & Seven.

 Las Vegas star Airamis first featured on Dubcnn back in September 2009, then shortly after we dropped an exclusive interview with him before alerting you to a collaboration track with Knoc-turn'al entitled "I'm on the Hunt" earlier this year.
The version we dropped back in February of that track was dubbed "the demo version" and since then the track has been blazing the airwaves globally, especially in Sweden. We are updating you on it again because the finished version is now available as the record is being pumped into North America.
Airamis is signed to Maynea Records based in Sweden and is currently working on his album, due later this year. Enjoy the new version of the track below

 Although not regularly featured on Dubcnn, a name that will most definitely be familiar to some is that of Sir Aah aka The Real Punjabi MC. The MC, who hails from the DMV area, first and last appeared on Dubcnn when he linked up with two members of Slaughterhouse, Crooked I & Royce Da 5'9 for the politically charged track called I Wonder If The Lord Knows.
Since then he has been quiet on Dubcnn but far from it further afield. He has been working on new material in preperation for an album and just this week two brand new records arrived. First up we have a track featuring Knoc-Turn'Al and Yukmouth entitled "Ya Movin, Ya Groovin" - check it below.

 As we told you last month "Concrete Steppin" is the upcoming album from Los Angeles based, Maryland-raised emcee E Reece. Then earlier this month we followed that update with a free download of his pre-album project called The RE: Introduction Mixtape which is mixed by DJ Mark-1 and presented by Dubcnn and the good folks at Live Mechanics, The Originators, and KevinNottingham.com.

Recently we took time to speak with Black C about the brand new solo LP, "70's Baby." We find out the reasons behind the album and the musical direction, we discuss his past projects, longevity in the industry and delve into his thoughts around Hip-Hop in general but specifically the Bay Area.
On a more sombre note we ask about how he dealt with losing two-thirds of RBL Posse, Mr. Cee in 1996 and Hitman in 2003 and get the lowdown on how he moved on with music after their deaths.

 Verbal is an artist that regular visitors will be aware of, perhaps without realising. During 2008 he appeared on Dubcnn countless times alongside Raje' during his popular Massive Thursday's feature we ran on Dubcnn.
Verbal appeared alongside Raje' on some of those tracks as well as tracks that Raje' had set to appear on his "The Conversion EP." Runnin' Ya Mouth (Woop Woop) featured both Chino XL and Verbal while the THX produced Livin This saw Verbal appear alongside Cashis and Raje'.
It was just over a year ago when we told you he was working on the mixtape "Get Down Or Lay Down Volume 1" that was to include the track we dropped entitled U Ain't Heard with Phil The Agony, Planet Asia & Raje, produced By KDE.

 Late last year Dubcnn were the first to bring you a track called Rasta Cri by an artist named J-Luv who hails from Phoenix, AZ.
The emcee has been working on his album "Before I Leave" and today has brought the project to Dubcnn for free download. "Before I Leave" is the result of a collaborative effort with a production collective called The Council Productions, together they deliver 10 tracks of hard hitting beats and lyrical precision. J-Luv has made the project available for FREE download right here on Dubcnn.

So far this year we have had new music from WC in the form of the DJ Crazy Toones mix blog entitled Frontline and of course the Dah Dah directed video of that same track.

Although DJ Muggs announced it back in March 2010, details and music from the anticpated latest DJ Muggs Vs project have been limited to rumour and some interview excerpts. Today the first two leaks from the hugely anticpated DJ Muggs vs Ill Bill "Kill Devil Hills" album have been released and are available here on Dubcnn.

 West Coast heavyweight DJ Ill Will has been an ever present on Dubcnn since his emergence and is constantly busy with mixtapes as well as working on online projects. The Dubcnn approved DJ looks set to make 2010 his year with yet again a flood of mixtape projects as well as looking to cement his place in music with his own label Tha Alumni Music Group.
As we reported last month with the release of the Ya Boy track Life Of A Rockstar, Ill Will is aiming to use this label to put together an album called "The Alumni", which will feature many of the artists he's affiliated with.
The label is also set to be home to new, talented artists and the first signee to the label is KiD Ink - and check the photo the name couldn't be more apt; this kid is INKED - who is a 24 year old Rapper/Producer from Los Angeles, CA.

 Last month we updated you with new material from Paypa, an artist that was born in San Diego, raised in Chicago and who returned to California to put out music.
As we reminded you last months since his Fall 2009 mixtape release, "24 Hours from Greatness" he has been working away preparing his debut album "Feel Good Music" due out this summer. So far in 2010 we have given you the Embryo produced joint I Am Bitches featuring Game and Jim Jones as well as La Cosa Nostra alongside Hayes.
In the last update we told you that he is releasing a pre-album release mixtape entitled "Tunnel Vision" with these tracks on there and that he had beenn shooting a music video for the I Am Bitches record - half in LA and half in New York - featuring both Game & Jim Jones. We provided you with the I Am Bitches Behind The Scenes Video last time but today we have the video in full.

 As promised yesterday right here on Dubcnn and to our email subscribers we start the ‘‘7-in-7’ back-to-back interviews from some of the biggest names in the game. Across the next week, to mark the summer months of July and of course in recongition that yesterday was Independence Day we are deliverting seven exclusive interviews in seven days on the site.
We kick off today with Ice Cube when we were among the privileged few to sit with the legendary Hip Hop icon, behind-the-scenes at his headlining performance at this year’s Paid Dues festival in San Bernardino, CA.
The room of interviewers were chomping at the bit to chat with the 20 year Rap veteran and Cube enthusiastically talked about his new album, "I Am The West", and his stance on the simmering debate over Old West vs. New West. Cube also discusses what role his successes out side of Hip Hop play in his music today.

 A ground-breaking new music site aimed at helping artists thrive financially as well as artistically has announced the launch of its first original Song Contest with cash prizes totalling €28,000 ($37,250) and a judging panel to be led by the iconic Bob Geldof, legendary music A&R man Nigel Grainge and music mogul Damion “Damizza” Young.
YouBloom.com will redefine the current file-sharing and free-download culture which makes it almost impossible for unsigned artists to monetize their music.
The site will offer a platform to showcase their music, grow their fan base and capitalize on their talents. YouBloom.com is the brainchild of entrepreneur and musician Phil Harrington. “My vision and that of everyone involved with YouBloom is to build a new global economy of artists which will change the dynamic of the industry and at last drive the internet to deliver creatively and financially for artists.”
In its initial stages the YouBloomSong Contest will take place on-line. With a prize pool of €28,000 ($37,250) the emphasis will be on original songwriting. The contest consists of a series of heats leading to play-off rounds voted on by members and the judging panel, and ultimately selecting a winner in the November Grand Final. There are prizes for fans as well, as encouragement to participate and vote. There are no fees or requirements to enter. Artists simply upload their songs to the site and chart their progress. Voting in Heat 1 began on May 3rd. Heats continue with the first of three judging sessions in July.
In order to provide support for the participating artists, Phil set out to introduce a judging panel of industry experts who would provide constructive critiques during the contest, calling in long-time friends Bob Geldof and A&R genius, Nigel Grainge. "Bob and Nigel work really well together having forged a close relationship after Nigel signed The Boomtown Rats to his Ensign label. Both men are passionate about the need to find and nurture undiscovered musical talent,” explains Phil Harrington.
With their intention to assemble a cross-genre panel of judges they first enlisted megawatt record producer, Damion “Damizza” Young. Stay tuned for other guest judges to be announced shortly.  This year has seen the artist Deen, formally known as Jihad, continue to build his buzz not only locally but on the international stage. Already this year Dubcnn has played host to the release of his DJ Superstar Jay hosted mixtape I Rebel plus tracks including Airwolf alongside Crooked I, My Home with Young De & the solo cut Cerritos Represent.
Then in late April we dropped two tracks from Deen's upcoming mixtape/street album, "Ruled By Shadows", hosted by DJ Skee.
The first was Hanging Out Da Window produced by Jaywan - and the second was where he linked up with world renowned production monster, Swizz Beats, compliments of West Coast Ruff Ryder President, Cookie Bishop with co-production by, Lou Dog, of Sublime on the track Dippin' In My Lexo.
Since then Deen has been back over in the Middle East finalising "Ruled By Shadows" as well as working on the announced EP "Kala/Safed" and finally completing work on his upcoming documentary on Middle East Hip-Hop, "Mic Check".
"Mic Check" is a documentary film based on the emerging hip-hop scene in the Middle East, specifically focusing on Dubai, UAE. Slated for an early 2011 release, "Mic Check" features Deen, DJ Warrior and a slew of Dubai-based talent. We have the trailer for the documentary to view below.
