1101173904 - January 1, 1970 By : A week and half ago, DubCNN was in full effect at the Sony offices for the Xzibit "Weapons Of Mass Destruction" listening party. I was gonna put up a review of what I thought of the album, but was shocked to see that it had already been leaked to the net. I didn't feel the need to let everyone know the scoop on the album, since most probably already heard it by then. But, with a little persuasive talks, thanks to Yash, I'll drop a tiny review. In the house that night was Super Producer Bosko, Latin Fros, Damizza and a few others. Sony were great hosts. They had an open bar the whole night, along with free Valet Parking, which I'm not used to, at all. So big ups to them for that, I for one appreciated it.
As for the album, it knocked, seriously. This is a major step up from Restless and Man Vs. Machine, both of which I disliked. The production was NICE on this album, very fitting for X. The features were crazy, Steady Gang on a track with Suga Free? WOW! Everyone held their own. For me, it was nice to hear Phil Da Agony and Krondon finally get the recognition they deserve. I felt X really got his bars up this go around. Since he's rollin' with SAS, it seems his mind is back in the right place. Make sure you cop this album. And here's some pics.

1107859155 - January 1, 1970 By : That's right The Relativez album dropped today and I gotto say it's just as tight as their last album if not better.
This album is basically their most solid album to date with guest appearances from Kokane, Dave Hollister, Butch Cassidy, Mitchy Slick and more.
As for the production... if you were expecting the same funky westcoast beats that we are used to hearing on Relativez albums you won't be disappointed.
Here's 2 tracks from the album called "Money Respect Money":
The Relativez "Run These Streetz" featuring Dave Hollister
The Relativez "Pimpin" featuring Too Short

1144047100 - January 1, 1970 By : Only in February did we drop the exclusive news that the Inglewood artist Damani, who was first featured online through dubcnn's now merged site; Westcoast2K (see On The Come Up: Damani), was back with a new mixtape entitled; "Congratulations Playa" with DJ Reflex and DJ Skee. The result? 18 tracks of nothing but heat, a solid release featuring the acclaimed track "Gotta Stay Paid," as well as appearences from Daz Dillinger, WC, Butch Cassidy, Keak Da Sneak and of course Damani's "Partner in Rhyme" Bad Lucc his Westurn Union collaborator.
Since then heads have been turning and Damani has been grinding hard to keep the name buzzing and reap the rewards. One track on the release stood out with its infectious chorus and club banger feel was "Inglewood"; so guess who came through for the remix? You guessed it; Mack 10. We have the audio exclusively courtesy of Damani, Mack 10 & Bad Lucc; shouts to them.
Check below for the audio of the remix as well as the link once again to Damani's acclaimed mixtape "Congratulations Playa."

1162151058 - January 1, 1970 By : It's been a long time since we last heard from hook master and R&B crooner Butch Cassidy, who blessed many tracks with his smooth voice in the past couple of years. But whenever we did hear from Butch, he was somewhere around Baby Ree's Damizza.
After years of collaborations, they have decided to come together for a duet project called "Back B4 You're Lonely", which is set to be released January 30th 2007 through Baby Ree/Universal/Fontana.
"It's been a long time coming, and we're back.", Damizza says. "Time to put some records out. Butch & I just have a sick chemistry when we get in the studio, we just tend to knock out hits." Butch & Damizza have already enjoyed success together, including the track "On 2's" which appeared on EA Sports NBA Live Video game. "It's a privilege to be able to listen to our music while I'm kicking Damizza's ass at NBA Live", Butch says.
Expect to hear the Gangsta Blues with a Twist of Street-Jazz that Butch is known to bring; combine that with Damizza's smoke- filled, hypnotizing, G-Crunk beats and you know it's gona be a hit.
We'll keep you updated on everything concerning this project, so keep it locked right here.

Damizza plans to get the long awaited Butch Cassidy solo album out by the middle of 2007.
We also made you aware recently that the two new collaborators are also set to release an album together entitled; "Back B4 You're Lonely" in January/February 2007; again via the Baby Ree/Universal/Fontana imprint.
Only this week we exclusively released the first track to be heard from the album; View From The Top which features Damizza, Bishop Lamont, Roccett & Vanessa Marquez - a cut produced by Damizza.
However today, we offer you a trip back in time, a voyage down memory lane to when Butch Cassidy was signed to Universal Records where he completed a solo album that never saw the light of day. One record that was made for the album was produced by hit-maker Meech Wells and has long been another track fans have longed to hear as it has been floating around in snippet and tagged format. Today dubcnn, in conjunction with Meech Wells are proud to release the song in full as it was meant to be heard.
The track features vocals from Snoop Dogg and is called "Bang This" and rest assured those of you who love that smooth, melodic material from Meech Wells; he did not dissapoint on the beat. Without further ado, enjoy the track, exclusive on dubcnn.

In that update we gave you a refresher on the acclaimed producer and also offered an exclusive new track featuring Knoc-Turn'Al
The track , entitled "Got Me Goin'" features an interpolation of the classic Kinks record from 1964 of the same name. The record quickly generated a buzz amongst fans and ensured that "Digital Smoke" was added to many "Most Anticipated In 2007" lists.
We last updated you on the project last month [see; J. Wells Signs Distribution Deal With Fontana] where we discussed a new distribution deal with Fontana for his own Bonzi Records. We also announced that the new J Wells CD is set to be a collaborative effort with Kurupt and will feature Butch Cassidy, Tha Liks, Roscoe, Gail Gotti, Goodie Mob, Styliztik Jones and many more.
We also released another two exclusive tracks from J Wells, one which features Goodie Mob and Dead Prez entitled Soldiers and the second featuring Styliztik Jones called Power Moves

1171627243 - January 1, 1970 By : Two of the busiest men in music have recently taken time out of their hectic schedules to combine and form an organistation to help aspiring artists get heard, get constructive cristicism and ultimately - get deals!
Damizza, who is hard at work on the upcoming collaboration album "Back B4 Ur Lonely" with Butch Cassidy, and Bishop Lamont, Aftermath Records' signee and Dr. Dre protégé who is currently finalising two mixtapes and his debut album "The Reformation" - are asking you to "Let Me Hear It"
That's right, Damizza and Bishop Lamont want to hear your music and be able to give you the time and energy you deserve on getting your music heard, critiqued and all importantly get the feedback direct from them.
The concept behind this move, which can be seen at Let Me Hear It Music, is the result of the pair being inundated with demos and requests that they can't always deal with; this new venture will ensure they can get through material that people really want them to hear and then take the time to listen and evaluate the music properly.
The pair will endevour to listen to all the material submitted, when they cannot then the studio teams, the Mad Scientists, will evaluate the music and then let the pair know what's hot and what's not! Bishop Lamont and Damizza have recorded a video on the new Let Me Hear It Music website to explain it all in detail however we think this quote sums it up; "Don't make it if you can't take it! What i mean by that is make sure you can take criticism, cause i'm gonna be cold than a muthaf-cka like Dre is on me."
Aspiring artists, do not miss out on this opportunity to sumbit your material, this is your chance to be heard and prove your worth - the first 150-200 material submissions will get video responses of Bishop Lamont and/or Damizza critiquing your record, live and direct!
In related news it appears that "Who I Gotta Kill To Get A Record Deal" Volumes II and III are in the works and are set to be industry samplers - that means that at Bishop's discretion yout hot material could make its way onto the same mixtape series that got into Dr. Dre's hand to sign Bishop Lamont to Aftermath - don't miss your chance head over to Let Me Hear It Music.com right now and submit your material for only $19.99

1178659483 - January 1, 1970 By : Damion "Damizza" Young CEO of BabyRee Records is gearing up for a hot 2007 with the release of its first single "Cruzin" which is already toping radio countdowns accross the country, from the criticly acclaimed album "Back B4 You're Lonely" w/ Butch Cassidy and Damizza, BabyRee is already, feeling its wheels turning and giving the industry something to talk about.
Especially with the second album release for BabyRee Recordings right around the corner, they are already proving they are a force to be reckoned with.
It comes in the form of a Blues album, not a rap or hip-hop album as most would expect, Damizza joined forces with Grammy & Emmy winning music composer Mike Post (Hill Street Blues, A-Team, Law and Order) to Release the L.A. Blues Alliance album "What a Life" on 5/15/2007.
A super group of musicians hand picked by Mr. Post. The group consist of Keb' Mo, Sunny Landreth, Mike Finnigan, Amy Keys, JR Robinson (Grammy winner) , David Morgan, Bob Glaub, W.G. Snuffy Walden (Emmy winner) & Stanley Behrens all accomplished and legendary within their own right, together they bring chemistry unlike any other to make great long lasting music.
On April 18th they all had their first performance together at the House of Blues In Hollywood to a sold out crowd celebrating they’re upcoming release. It was a star-studded event as the red carpet arrivals were a diverse group of stars including Joe Pesci (who was on hand to introduce the group), Ben Harper, Butch Cassidy, Bishop Lamont, Vanessa Marquez and a slue of industry insiders that made the Night a total success.
Damizza has described BabyRee Reecordings as forming into "The west-coast Motown of music." "BabyRee strives to put out a great quality music and that comes in all forms and genre's." Expect to hear a lot more from BabyRee Recordings with more music scheduled to be released soon including the highly anticipated Butch Cassidy solo album due late summer 2007.

His brooding, paranormal instrumentals pave the way for some fantastic moments, just as they have on previous releases like Digital Master" as well as earning an honorable Dub Rating.

1181070238 - January 1, 1970 By : All of you who have been visiting dubcnn for a few years will remember Down aka Kilo, the mexican rapper we had interviewed in 2003 for the release of his solo album "California Cowboys", which featured the West Coast's finest on it, as well as top notch beats, even though Down was not exactly the best rapper out there. The CD caused a lot of eyebrows to raise, and the homie Frank Nitty put me up on game as far as the support Down gets from his people in Mexico. Nitty, Bad Azz and others helped Down connect with the who's who on the West Coast and put together his "California Cowboys" release from 2003.
Four years later, Down is back with his new album "Definition Of An Ese". The first single "Lean Like A Cholo" has been getting a lot of airplay and building up a buzz. But don't let the poppy and watered down sound of the first single fool, Down has got some surprises on the album.
He's got a banger on there with Nate Dogg called "I'm Coming Home To You", as well as the title track to his album "Definition Of An Ese". You can download the single "Lean Like A Cholo", as well as the two songs I just mentioned below:
Down aka Kilo - Lean Like A Cholo
Down aka Kilo - I'm Coming Home To U (ft. Nate Dogg)
Down aka Kilo - Definition Of An Ese
Other features include Snoop Dogg, B-Real, Butch Cassidy, Niki Diaz, Diamonique, Fingazz and more. To order the album now, click here.

"The Return Of The Magnificent" receives the Dub Quotable: "Jazzy Jeff may be immortalized as the person hauled off the Bel-Air property, but those who refuse to take ‘Jazzy Jeff, the Hip-Hop honorary’ to heart are doing themselves a great disservice." "I'm putting the finishing touches on it now," he said from a mixing session at one of L.A.'s most secretive studios, fittingly called Area 51/Studio 9.

1188143473 - January 1, 1970 By : We have the official press release about Damizza's upcoming "Unreleased Tracks" project, where he is going to be putting out tracks that never came out over the years. Check out the official article below:
"Christmas is going to come early for West Coast hip-hop fans, as multi-platinum producer Damizza has agreed to open his vast unmatched vault of more than 500 unreleased songs spanning the past two decades and release previously unheard tracks featuring stars as diverse as Krayzie Bone, Nate Dogg, Mariah Carey and more.
"I've had everybody come through the studio from ˜Spiderman" Toby Maguire to Ludacris so what better way celebrate my 20-year love affair with music than by releasing songs by some of the greatest stars of our time?" Damizza says. The producer explains that, until now, he's been so busy working on new material with Butch Cassidy and emerging artists signed to his Baby Ree label that he simply hasn't had time to sift through the hundreds of unreleased works.
"There are volumes of new songs in there," he says, "as well as demo recordings & new material from Jennifer Love-Hewett, Roccett, Macy Gray, Ray J & Nate Dogg, it's really amazing. I surprised myself at the quantity and quality of music. We've just been producing so much material that gems just end up being forgotten. It's an amazing body of work and I feel it needs to be out there for fans."
"Damizza Presents: Unreleased Volume 1" will be in stores through Baby Ree and distributed through Fontana/Universal on November 31st.
That will be followed in early 2008 by two addition volumes from Damizza's vault which the producer hints may include rare works from Bone Thuggs N Harmony, Mariah Carey, Ice Cube, Bishop Lamont, Ja Rule, Knoc-Turn'al, Fat Joe and many more chart-topping artists.
"There's just no reason for good music to just sit," Damizza says of his incredible catalogue.
