In the last few weeks there has been a rumbling on the Westcoast. Thankfully not an earthquake but a whisper that DJ Quik and Kurupt might be about to do a “BlaQKout” sequel!
In 2009 the duo got together to drop the album “BlaQKout” that was released via Mad Science Recordings and appeared on the Billboard Top 100.
They dropped the singles Hey Playa! and Whatcha Wanna Do featuring Problem & Yo-Yo from the LP before speaking to Dubcnn for this exclusive interview in the weeks before release.
The album was embraced by fans and many critics but wasn’t a huge commercial success and many worried we wouldn’t see the two together in that way again. In the last few days though a new single appeared online called “The Demon’s Carol” that sees QK reunited…and angry! Listen below and drop your comments!

Since the single went online Kurupt has tweeted “Blaqkout 2……” so expect more news soon!
hope to see it soon on the records stors. that song is strange and slow but I know that the rest of the album is gonna sound good
Really? Is this it? I couldn’t stand to listen to the song for more than 1 minute. I thing the beat is incredibly annoying. I’m sure that DJ Quik can do better than this.
“See lyrics ain’t nothin if the beat ain’t crackin”

This song is treacherous! It’s meant to disturb you lyrically and mentally. Just think about it, that shit is so annoying to the point it did everything that Quik wanted it to do. I know how he thinks because he’s a left handed nigga he does nothing right. He thinks on a whole different realm homey. This shit is dope to me, done.
