Last month DubCNN.com reported that Warren G was plotting his first new music since last year with the Instagram of a Bernie Grundman Mastering CD sleeve for a project titled “My House” with the quote “For the suckas its to late and the ones that didn’t stay down eat one I’m self made I don’t need Hollywood fakes and shakes.”

Since then news had gone quiet until today when, in an interview with Billboard, Warren G announced that he’ll release an EP titled “Regulate…G Funk Era Part II” on August 6th 2015, and that “My House” is a single and NOT the project itself.

“Regulate… G Funk Era Part II” will be Warren G’s first project since “The G Files” in 2009, and the sequel to his 1994 Def Jam debut and explained;

“I feel real good that I am getting the chance to let people hear a lot of that sound that has been missing [in] hip-hop. I finally have records that I had in the archives that I put together to let the world hear some of that G Funk that they’ve been missing and wanting to hear for long time.”

Warren G also confirmed the EP will include unreleased audio from the late Nate Dogg;

“[Fans] will be able to hear unreleased songs with me and Nate. They have been asking for years; ever since he passed away and even before he passed away, they wanted music from me and him. It was a lot to work on records with one of your buddies, one of your best friends who’s not with you anymore,” he said on working with unreleased music from Nate Dogg. “[But] just being able to put all the love and energy in there and making it successful…”

In terms of collaborations on the project Warren G hinted that he’d recruited artists that he and Nate Dogg respected and wanted to work with before Nate Dogg’s passing;

“Guys that I respect a lot in the music business came aboard and collaborated with me on some tracks,” he said. “Artists like E-40, Too $hort, Young Jeezy, Bun B are vets of hip-hop. [They’re] artists that me and Nate loved and wanted to work with.”

The first single, “My House,” featuring Nate Dogg, will be on DubCNN.com soon!
