WestCoast Stone is a Seattle-based producer born and raised in South Central Los Angeles.
A lifelong musician, Stone got his start in church choirs and gospel bands at the age of six and has since become an accomplished singer, songwriter, and producer – and regular readers will recognise the name.
His ability to play seventeen instruments by ear and hone that talent into making great music led him to win “West Coast Producer of the Year” the last four years at the West Coast Hip Hop Awards. As a result Stone has quickly become one of the most sought-after and well respected producers on the West Coast.
Producing tracks for such artists as Nipsey Hussle, Bobby Valentino, Kokane, Snoop Dogg, Suga Free, Messy Marv, Kurupt and George Clinton, his recognition has ignited fan bases in Russia, Asia, Germany and the U.K., and ultimately expanded the artists he’s working with.
In the last 12 months we’ve featured him as part of Quictamac’s “Passport Only” album, Big Prodeje “California Classic” LP and most recently the new record from Baby S “Hydrogen Powered.”
Today we’re switching the spotlight on his upcoming solo project “Vintage Poplock Music” and it’s lead singles and videos “Watch Me Do The Robot” and the “Westcoast Pop Lockin'” posse cut featuring Big2DaBoy, Prodeje from (South Central Cartel), Loesta, RedRum & Big Sono – both of which feature The Hoodbotic Puppets who appeared in the Kendrick Lamar video for “King Kunta.”
First up is the posse cut which features O.G. crips and bloods together on the same song – a big step for WestCoast unity during what have been troubled times of late. Props to all involved!
