IMO... there is NO question that in the history of West Coast rap,it has produced better gangster rap than alternative rap.
Is the current (West Coast) gangster rap scene better than the alternative scene?Hard to say, both has released dope shit... IMO they're pretty equal in 200+[/color]

We'll have to disagree then. Both genres have produced some amazing albums. The only difference is that gangstaer rap got more publicity.

Take a look again. Each of those crews are huge and have released a ton of albums, group albums, each have their solo albums, side projects, etc etc.At least as many as, if not more than the groups you mentioned. And these are just three collectives out of the entire west coast alternative underground scene.I think you underestimate the amount of music coming out on the indie alternative rap scene, as a lot of it slips under the radar.

I got two from W.C. and the Jacka's last albums. I don't listen to anyone else from Mob Figaz.Really, you're going to include mixtapes? That's a sign in itself that west coast gangsta rap is suffering.

Not even close. Half of that family tree isn't even gangstaer rap. I really don't want to make a list of the alternative underground scene.
I don't think I could actually. Its huge, way beyond what you realize. If you made a family tree of freestyle fellowship and every act associated with them, it would probably be the same size as the N.W.A. tree.
Like I said before, the alternative underground scene is under most people's radar. These guys don't even promote their albums, they just drop them.
Just from looking at the list you posted I can see the majority of the west coast albums you listened to are gangstaer rap.So how are you going to be talking about the size of the alternative rap scene?
You take a look again. The NWA/DPG family has released more, better and groundbreaking albums than the whole alternative scene alone .
Let's face it, this is pretty much a gangstaer rap forum. If this is your main music forum, then almost all alternative releases are going to slip by you, unless its by someone like Del who more people know about.
Good looking out on the list. You didn't link to it in your previous post, you linked to some thread where you talked about 5 albums.
So looking at your list and only taking the west coast gangstaer rap albums, the highest you rated an album was 3.5?That's not a very good look for 09.
